Last I heard, Mirror's Edge is not in the clear yet. I think Langdell still wants a piece of that pie too.

If Tim goes after Mirror's edge and sues them -- I really hope EA counter-sues for wasting their time and the millions of iphone users out there.

I'm hoping he does go after EA, they've probably got a much better legal team than Mobigame so if they win their case it'll give more support to Mobigame's claims as well... then they can use that against Tim.

I think EA has too many legal connections and money to back them for this Langdell guy to handle, he might win but EA would fight it and drag it on for over 10 years before he sees even a small sign of victory, and even then the chances of Langdell winning anything off a company with that kind of power are slim to none.

For all the hate EA get on other matters, they seem like angels when confronted by Langdell.

We all may hate or have our differences with various companies or individuals but I'm sure everyone agrees this is a man fighting in desperation and causing more harm than good by trying to keep his trademarks that he hasn't actively used in the past decade. If the article is correct, he's a very hard guy to discuss anything with, not too mention he has blatant financial issues which may be the cause for his rampant trademark spree.

I never thought I'd say this but take him down EA. You really are sticking out for the little guy in this instance.

yeah I'll be open that I don't like EA as a company, this would probably be the only thing I'd support them on.

    Tht will NOT help...
Just tear that document he has as the U.S. Patent, also clean all the records that he ever had it patented.

Violence is always NOT the cure :p

    EDIT:
Oh! EA is ON it already since '07!
    Thts the way!

Ok, I still got Edge on my phone, but hey why does Langdell (or whats his name?) do this?! And why won't anyone stand up against him? Isn't edge a word so common that you shouldn't be able to trademark it at all?

Maybe they can call it "Ledge" and move on.

And it really is hard to believe what a douche Tim is. Or that our pathetic patenting and legal systems enable this kind of behavior.

    Oh well.

Why are so many games with the word "Edge" in the title?

    (from wikipedia)
" they changed the game's name, he demanded 25% of the game's revenue for the time the title was on sale under the name "edge", and if they licenced the Edge name, they would give him 10% of the game's revenue in perpetuity and subtitle it "An Homage To [Edge Games title] Bobby Bearing", with the Edge Games logo on the title screen."

wasn't bobby bearing copied from marble madness? it was released after it!

In the end all he is really doing is giving great PR for the game EDGE.

I just have the opinion that the abuse at people who have made a different choice in life not due to their own fault is unjustified and unfair
