A: The first thing you should check is the official iOS developer website. You can register for free and read the huge amount of documentations avaiable here. http://developer.apple.com/devcenter/ios/ Q: I have a great idea for an iOS project but have no knowledge whatsoever about iOS development A: Without any knowledge it will be diffcult for you to develope an iOS game. If you have some basic programming knowledge there are some SDKs that could speed up your developement. If you don't have any programming related skills you might be better off just to hire someone or try to build your own team. Q: What kind of frameworks/tools are there to make iOS developmenet easier. A: There are several ones, for example -GameSalad: Point & click development enviroment with limited features http://gamesalad.com/ -Corons SDK: A LUA based development enviroment http://www.anscamobile.com/corona/ -Unity 3D: a multiplatform 3d engine http://unity3d.com/ -Unreal Development Kit: the famous Unreal engine/tools are now iOS compatible http://www.udk.com/ -Cocos2d: an feature rich 2d engine for iOS and mac developement http://www.cocos2d-iphone.org/ Q: I've read somewhere there are some strict guidelines apple has for iOS developement? A: Yes Apple has list of their approval guidelines here http://developer.apple.com/appstore/guidelines.html Please be aware that the approval process is still a subjective matter and approval or denial is always dependant on your reviewer at Apple. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Since we see the same question poping over and over it would be nice if we could start a little FAQ thread.. if a mod would be so nice and stick it when the list becomes a bit longer Everyone is highly encouraged to post question/answere combinations below, they will be copied into the first post.
