So what was it? Doesn't necessarily have to be one that came out this year. It can be an older one that you just finally heard for the first time this year. Maybe I'll find some good music in the process
I've been going through a musical reawakening these few months. I use to listen to really crappy music. Think Amberlin, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Breaking Benjamin. So basically, all the good music I've listened to is fairly new to me. My two favorites would be...
@ Kamazar Nice, two of my favorite bands for awhile now. Have you given Cage the Elephant a try? My two favorite albums this year:
Indeed. I've downloaded a few of their songs. Judas, In One Ear, Back Against the Wall, and Ain't No Rest for the Wicked are fantastic! I should be getting around to downloading at least one whole album. Edit: Devil on My Shoulder has gotta be in the top 5 rock songs I've listened to this year. So, so good. Yeah, they've got a real distinctive sound. I didn't like Cage the Elephant the first time I listened to them about a year back. Gave them another go, still didn't like 'em, but then they REALLY started to grow on me. S.I.D, you ever heard of The Parlor Mob? Similar to Cage the Elephant, but a little more old school.
Do you mean the vocalist's voice? It is a bit different, I really like it though. But I can see how some people might be turned off by it. Make that three favorites this year(THIS YEAR was a good year for me):
Aaaand that's another band I gave a listen to this year. Gettin' kinda creepy. ... got a different perspective on time, or something?
haha, just realized I said today was a good year Will edit that out and that's weird how we've listened to the same bands.
You like BFMV, not much room to talk. Yeah, it's a pretty great album. It's one of my first black metal albums I've listened to, and the album that ultimately got me into black metal.
I sometimes wonder what being high and listening to Owl City at the same time would be like. Talking candy canes, valleys of marshmallows and rivers of chocolate... All singing a lullaby to me...
