You guys get a 5/5 review from Appspy ! PROS * Smooth touch screen controls for a platformer. * Ambient and engaging sound design and music. * Inventive premise. * Great storybook art design with great use of muted color. CONS * The aiming controls are a little iffy. * Missing a bit of a wow factor. VERDICT Terra Noctis borrows most of its gameplay from the Mario playbook, and when executed this well with an inventive premise and fantastic presentation, this can hardly be described as a bad thing. congrats! http://www.appspy.com/terra-noctis-review
Gotta agree with a lot of the platformers above, particularly: Terra Noctis Pizza Boy Bean's Quest League of Evil INC Stardash meganoid Sonic 4 Cheese Man Robot Wants Kitty But it's sad that no one has yet mentioned Miss Claire Garden. Despite it's girly title, I definately place this among my favorite platformers on the iOS. Worth checking out if you're a fan of platformers and haven't tried it.
Got some more to add - Wind up knight Run roo Spy Corp Castle of Magic Ninja town: Trees of doom Super world Adventure Howling Mouse Grimm Rouge Runner Grimm joggers Dr. Nano x Toy bot games Spy bot Spoing Alien Hominid Bit-1 Swing worm Zero tek Super bit dash Commander pixmen
Some noteworthy ones I've enjoyed are Terra Noctis, League of Evil, Stardash, and Mirror's Edge. Definitely forgetting some though D: edit: Sonic CD as well, if you count that as platforming.
Favorites: Terra Noctis, Super Crate Box/ Muffin Knight if you consider'em platformers, Rat on a Skateboard/Snowboard, (if you consider it a platformer), Robot Wants Kitty, and LEAGUE OF EVIL!!!!
My absolute favorite platformer hasn't gotten a lot of press and that is a big shame. It's cute, colorful, fast, frantic and you need a good strategy to get far. It's easy to learn, but difficult to master. It's name? QWAK! Please check it out, it deserves a lot more success and recognition! I also like: Pix n' Love Rush and Soozis although they are nowhere near as much fun as QWAK.
Well, I've been playing Jazz: Trump's Jorney a lot and it's absolutely fantastic. I'm working on the review for it plus a bunch of other games. Yeah, I've been behind the past week. Anyways, the game is by far one of, if not, the best platformers on iOS. It's actually sickening how good it is. I will be gifting a copy of it to the first person that PMs me, but you have to have already made a comment in this thread. I will not gift this game to just anybody! I wish I could gift it to more people, but it costs $3 and I spent a lot on games this week and other outside projects I'm working on. So, I'm busting my balls just to gift it once, but it's d@mn worth it! Edit Why is the TA review messed up and why are comments disabled? Here are some pics I took of the menu--the menu is ridiculously awesome! The credits were even made into a level, I posted it in order, so you can kinda follow along.
Well you should try and buy games you know ! If everyone waited for games to be free the devs wouldnt bother with iOS and would jump to another platform. Support devs by buying their games, i mean the prices are soooo cheap anyway. Anyway back to the games. Really think 'Inc' should get some love, great platform game from the makers of Meganoid/Stardash, its an excellent little game Same for PDA Games, one of my favourites (The Alien Hominid game), simple platformer but with tons of levels, very addictive
Does anyone know of any ''Super Mario Bro's" clones coming up in the future?. I always seem to miss them. They get pulled so quickly.
Paper Monsters is prolly the closest you'll get. I'd also say Terra Noctis is similar based upon gameplay style. I don't actively search for blatant clones, so I'm not much help in that respect. ----------------------------------------------- Despite what has been said about PM, I think it's a fine platformer and was easily welcomed into my collection.
