Thank you for that very intelligent comeback. I just started playing Chaos Rings 2 again, so have fun playing ATB.
Ha! I just reinstalled both FFI and II as well as CR1 and Omega this morning after finally completing FFIII last night. I'm in a total RPG mood now... Luckily I've got some of the best titles available for the iOS to dive into. =oD
LOL... i guess i can install all of those too together with FFD, Drakerider, TWEWY, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger just for the hell of it. Also, 774 Deaths, SolaRola and Imaginary Range are 3 of the non-RPG SE titles that i enjoyed much of. And Demon's Score is currently my favorite rhythm game on the iOS.
Same here. FF I, II & III ... A slew of Kemco games, Guardian Saga... and that's just scratching the surface of turnbase RPGs that I own. I still need FF:IV, Alphadia 2, TWEWY and a few others but I could probably retire from all genre other than RPG (and turn based Strategy / RPG hybrids) and be good for maybe a year. I'm not bothered by the less grindy aspect of the updated FF. I don't mind a grind but its nice not having to dedicate so many hours to just doin that like in the NES days.
Yeah, I just completed SOM and Chrono Trigger back in December for the 2nd time (on iOS)... But SolaRola's consistent bouncy/jump noise totally turned me off... I've never played 774 or Imaginary Range. I'll have to snag them later on tonight. =oD And yes... I've played through all of Kemco's titles numerous times (except for Alphadia - I'm on my second playthrough ATM, and Alphadia 2... Which I'm almost done with for the first time...) but Kemco doesn't have IAP games (save for Dark Gate, which people were pretty upset about, which sucks because its probably the deepest TBRPG I've played on the iDevice)... But anyway... FFI+II... SQUARE IS STILL ONE OF MY FAVORITE DEV STUDIOS. I never got into anything after FFX, but just about everything before that, especially the NES, SNES and GB titles have secured their place in my heart for the rest of my life.
Oh my gosh! You don't have 774? Prepare for greatness! It is so good. Disclaimer: It will kick your a! (sorry off topic)
Just wait when they announce 7,8 and 9 - ports of those would generate big bux for them ,and would be met with extreme anticipation for the FF fans. Boy, even if the ports were not so good, it would be hard to not pick those up.
I actually miss playing FF6... 5, not much, but 6, i'd give $20 for that. Garland and Kefka are my favorite villains in the FF world.
Square Enix has teased that they will not remake Final Fantasy 7 because they consider FF7 to be the high point of the franchise and rebooting it would tarnish that achievement, however dated. It's hard to tell if they are celebrating artistic integrity or taunting fans into a frenzy for an inevitable re-release as a marketing strategy. From June 2012 the company stated "[we] will only consider this once a brand new game in the franchise exceeds the quality of that found in FF7" but mid-2009 interviews implied a remake was possible. +1; when Square Enix releases Final Fantasy 6 on iOS my life as I know it will come to an end.
