meaning is the same... companies are not going to stay in biz giving away gc + ipads for refers or reviews etc. with ge its best to keep it simple and keep the masses away from a good thing.
Definitely. It is going to be my app income source for now on. I still have hope of getting a device through FAS though
Had a few anxious moments earlier today when both FMA and FAS showed 0 credits, and asked me to install their respective profiles on my device. Luckily though, the credits showed up once the profiles were installed. Like most of you, I have had no luck with sponsors or free spins of late. Having said that, I just reviewed six new apps on GnomeEscape, so am happy with the earnings this week.
I've tried with a few different VPNs (all US based locations) with no success. Honestly think it must have to do w/policies around how the unique IDs are managed and who sees what? If I set up a new device, there are tons of apps that were not available or listed on the other devices... but then you can only download one and the rest are then gone. Looking at these posts and the various apps - these apps are available but not to everyone. I am US based and not able to see any apps unless setting up a new device. Every 10-20 days it seems a new app (w/less than 100 credits mind you) floats in... and if l'm lucky the credit will register after download. Contact IT and get canned responses on this topic: "Thank you for reaching out to us, fellow app freer! We want to help you free as many apps as possible and are adding new sponsor apps as fast as we can. For updates on new sponsor apps and more app freeing fun, please follow us on twitter @FreeMyApps and like us on Facebook. Thanks for your patience and thanks for freeing the apps! Sincerely, The FreeMyApps Support Team"
Though the sponsors decide what is right for their app, it would be the business practices and policies that would create attractive offers for sponsors to participate ~ so to me it comes back to FMA. If apps are too slow to post, blink-and-missed opportunities, apps that do not credit - this is all FMA. When there are no sponsors participating, FMA needs to make changes.
Agreed! He basically suggested me to ask the sponsors why FMA is having 100k users, it's not like any of the sponsors will pay FMA $100,000 to promote their free app. so, it's up to FMA to provide apps to everyone. (FMA is very much aware of the number of downloads a sponsor needs, so before expanding their user base, they need to make sure everyone gets an app)
Have you spent any money on any of the free apps you've downloaded through these sites? How do the sites make "attractive offers?" They're selling downloads, nothing more. Sponsors pay for downloads to get exposure and with the hope people will buy IAPs. Instead, the sites have attracted lots of people who just want free stuff and barely pay attention to the sponsor apps. Because of this, it can only last so long.
Well, as with most companies, sales are a big part of things. When sponsors are looking to run on a service like FMA, having a very large user base is a great selling point. So for us to get more apps on the wall, we need more sponsors, and for more sponsors we always need a more attractive user base, so its kind of a double edged sword. If we get too many users too fast, there won't be enough apps for them to download as the users just chew through any campaigns offered in a day or two, but if we get them too slowly, then not as many sponsors will want to run. Just the nature of the market. It is difficult coming off of the Christmas season just because there was so much going on so you build a ton of users with a ton of expectations. You can either pay out of your own pocket to keep users by running apps that you pay the credits out completely for (useful when starting a new user base, wink wink) or you can offer prizes and community events and stuff to keep people hanging around long enough for the sponsor apps to start rolling in. Kind of unfortunate that we get people complaining about lack of sponsor apps, when we want as many sponsors as we can get as well lol. Hope that offers a bit more insight into these sorts of services. Things will start picking up again soon though.
BTW, just a sidenote: did you know the meaning of "Fiksu" (in Finnish) upon founding your company, or, was it just a coincidence? (The people in your company, based on the public info I could find, don't seem to be Finnish.)
I have approx. 61000 credits on FAS, so what shoul I do? Get some of the apps on there, get myself an amazon gift card, or just carry on spining until I get to higher value stuff?
Yeah, reviews make a huge deal for developers. I don't lie in my reviews but I do my best not to rip the apps. I've only given 2 stars once or twice but at least try to give feedback. A lot of the apps are well made but just aren't my type.
For that amount you should just keep spinning, I mean it's just worth $5 and there isn't even a $5 gift card you can redeem now. They used to have them but now they're gone...
Yup, I only saw http://www.fiksu.com/company/board-of-directors , where there's no Finnish names. I've just noticed there's another page, http://www.fiksu.com/company/company-overview , which explicitly mentions Micah Adler’s Finnish roots. (Micah isn't a Finnish Christian name. I know of only one Finn that is named Micah - after Americans. See http://keskustelu.suomi24.fi/node/8482095 if interested.)
Cool, I don't know much about Finnish onomastics. The main company is based in Boston (where I live). I assumed Micah was a Finnish name as well because he pronounces it Mee-ka while most Americans pronounce Micah as My-ka. Interesting from the article- *Micah and Eliah America common boys' names* (Google translate) I haven't heard of anyone name Eliah in America... is it a different spelling of Elijah?
1, Mika is the Finnish version of Micah, spelled, as you said, Mee-ka. 2, dunno - probably. The girl that posted that post may have misspelled the American name.
Important FAS question: Should I validate my credits for Might & Magic or Cracking Sands? Or should I hold out?
I don't know how long you have been playing FAS but the last month or so has been a massive grind. I have finally got to 230k and cashed out $25 iTunes GC and think I'm done with FAS for a while. If you intend to buy one of these, you might as well cash out, as I think that the sites days seem numbered. No more daily spins and hardly any new sponsors means that it is really hard to gain points without referrals. M&M seems like the better deal to me, but I prefer RPG's to racers on the iPhone. Good luck, whichever way you go
