I actually like the "ears". Looks like a cool design choice to make him look different. General aliens designs have become often repetitive.
Well if there where maybe a lot of them floating around him and a special move could be like a beam of them spraying at the other players. I don't know, with just them two there. It looks awkward.
Your welcome. Could you have the artist make a design with more of those ear looking things all around the space ship? Then that could be when he gets a special move. They appear to form one beam and blast more than one player.
