Air units haven't been written out but none exist at present. We have plans for air and naval units, the only question is whether or not they make the initial release. We're not exactly going for a straight-up Redwall look and feel but I'm glad that you are enjoying the similiarities. Nothing final has been discussed. Awesome! Great suggestions, keep 'em coming! Unlockable types are definitely a possibility for the future of the game, and something we have discussed. If this game does well enough, we have a lot more ideas to keep it fresh and exciting This is a fact, and we are trying to emphasize this element as much as possible.
Awesome. Hope you guys don't encounter any show stopping bugs! And naval units seems intriguing. Make sure we can assemble a landing force alright?
That's definitely always a good use of naval E-mail received You got it, anyone who received a build in the past will continue to get e-mails with new builds as they come out.
Working on finishing this build, I'm really hoping to do so before the holidays start. The end is in site but I really want to have no known bugs, so whenever I find one I have to track it down and crush it ASAP. That way when you guys send me bug reports, it'll be something new to me Here's a picture of a bug I'm working on right now: Over the weekend I had to completely rewrite the way objects are added to the scene so that depth would work better, and there are still a few kinks I have to work out. As you can see from this one, part of the mobile base is being obscured by mountains that the mobile base should, by all means, be in front of. Whoops!
The above bug is fixed - in fact, I think all the currently known bugs are fixed. I'm working on my last task of the day and figured I'd share one more image with you guys: the new icon! Nice, eh?
Just a suggestion, but I feel that if the blues and greens and the mouse in the icon were both brighter/sharpened up a bit it'd look better!
Hmmm...I'll pass that message along to Sean and see what he thinks. However, I did have the default iPhone gloss effect still on in those screenshots, it's since been turned off - does it look better now? PS. It's actually a dog Initial release will be focussed more on the core gameplay. If we do well enough for an update story mode won't be very far behind
Heh, sorry. With the gloss effect off it looks better, but I still think that it would be more attractive if the colors were just a tad brighter - it'd be more likely to catch a person's eye when they're browsing through iTunes/App Store.
Looks pretty nice, so no story or campaign mode? So what is there to do just go into a map and battle? I think it needs so sort of motivation, even if you just add a few lines of text in here and there to give a sense of story.
Here's our thinking - campaign mode is a fair amount further than just battles. We have plans for campaign but currently they are more along the lines of what we did in Castle Conflict, with more emphasis on army customisation than what we have here. And we want to add a real good story (not just lines of text, etc.) to them. As such, they are further away from being able to get in peoples hands then a version that includes the core gameplay. This will give us a chance to get real feedback on the gameplay, and get people playing the game sooner. We think it's a win/win scenario this way That being said, we also believe we are giving players a fairly good reason to want to play by making the game fun in short, strategic bursts, as well as including online multiplayer I'm glad you like it Got some more menu stuff done today:
Hey all, We have space for about 2 more for this beta test. If you are interested, please PM me your device id + device type + email address ASAP. Next builds are going to go out before Christmas, hopefully even as early as tomorrow Also, here are some new screenshots Just got them in tonight so they will probably go through at least one round of polish before they hit the app store.
On the map select screen, there needs to be some sort of visual effect/item that shows that you can scroll left and right for more map choices. I didn't even realize there were other map choices in the beta for a while.
