Here's a title suggestion: Primal Paw Tactics Obvious Final Fantasy Tactics motif here. Perhaps too lawsuit-friendly. It would also limit future expansion of in-game races to "paw-wielders" only. Naturally, the title appearing on home-screens would be "PP Tactics". I also have an idea on the logo for this title--which I'd mention if it'd first gain some traction.
Hmmm...not sure about that one, we'll have to think about it. Progress report ... cleaning off some of the last tasks before beta here. The big one before the ad-hocs go out is going to be the battle end screen, but some of the little polish tasks I'm adding now include particle effects, etc... No screenshot yet but hopefully later today
I am intersted,i loved castel conflit and i'm a big fan on advance wars. The 2 still is the better I hope you will message me A question:Will it have difference between each race? Thanks
Great, I hope you like it Got your request, we are now full up for this round of testing - sorry guys! Here are a couple screenshots with particles in:
Progress update: I spent the last two day doing polish, fixing bugs, etc...last interface graphics should be coming in tonight according to Sean so I should be able to implement those either tonight or Monday, so new build should be up by Tuesday
So far, the game has very good potential. It runs quite well, 60 frames on my 2nd gen. iTouch, so the engine and graphics are well optimized--which can't be said for some games that seems to brush off eloquent and efficient coding. Graphically, it's polished as well and doesn't have that makeshiftly-ported-over-from-another-platform feel. If everything holds and it incoporates some good game mechanics, this one will be a keeper for RTS fans. Keep it up! P.S. I'll send you(Stephen) my suggestions, bug reports, etc, when I reply to your email.
Thanks for the feedback AnAdolt! Sorry for the lack of updates in the past week - we are literally changing the way interfaces are laid our right now to be more intuitive. That's when you know that your game is near being done . Sean is beside me right now tweaking the multiplayer # of player choice screen so that I can put the new art in... meanwhile, I just finished loading the stats into this, the game-over screen...
Thought the old layout was intuitive enough so I'm looking forward to seeing this even more intuitive layout. I like the addition of the favourite stat, only minor complain is we're Canadians so it shouldeth be spelt "favourite"!
I agree in spirit but experience shows me most of my sales occur in the states. And, well, Germany...
The current beta build contains the dog and cat species; as well as mice. I think if, by popular demand, they might have mice in the release version as well but they were thinking of only having dogs and cats on release.
Current build contains them Final game will include Mice ... the plan is to have them be unlockable but we have no unlocking mechanism yet. So they may just be there by default.
This looks good guys, I've been waiting for an Advance Wars style game for ages. I quite like the idea of the cats/mice/dogs, though I would prefer a more modern twist on the weaponry.. I feel like the archers and pikemen has been done before a few too many times. One idea I've had (and I'm sure it's too late now), would be to have a variety of different animal species on each team - the only difference between teams being the colour. Each animal would bring it's own strengths and weaknesses to the table. For example, you could have goldfish which obviously only operate in water and can be scaled up to whales and sharks. You could then have domestic cats on land that can be upgraded to lions and tigers (obviously, all in your lovely art style), plus pigeons as air attack units, which can be upgraded to eagles and hawks. Just a thought, and I might well be missing the premise of the game by suggesting this! One other thing I'd say is that; in Advance Wars, there'd be a real tactical edge by capturing control points (I think they were called Cities, or something) which would enable you to make new units quicker. Are there any plans to include these in the final game?
