Hey folks, Tonight we brought the forums down for about an hour and upgraded to the latest version of the 3.x vBulletin system that our forums are built upon. We've also made some other under-the-hood changes that were needed on the live server to prepare for the soon-to-be-released TouchArcade iOS app. Everything went smoothly tonight, but do please let us know, here, if you encounter any errors or see anything out of the ordinary with the forums. Thanks! bp
Can't wait for the upcoming app! Anyways, I get this when I try to mark forums read under quick links: ----- Your submission could not be processed because a security token was invalid. If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error. -----
Font size in social group messages has become too small now. It used to be same size as the forum posts earlier. Now it's barely legible on the iPad unless you zoom in and then keep scrolling left and right to read every sentence.
I opened Beta Tester Alliance and the top part was normal: info, users, pictures, but then it had this Social Group Discussion part for 2 links: Beta Tester Alliance and The Bar? It seems Crex just created that, but nvm, off-topic. So I clicked TBTA link and the messages on top were the oldest and newest were on last page, like in normal threads. Is this a bug or are we supposed to go to the last page every time? I liked it better when the group's latest posts were on first page...
Social Groups' Formatting Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this... Does anyone know how to change the social groups' formatting back to the way it used to be. It used to be when you go to your social's groups page, the discussion is on the same page, with the messages sorted from newest to the oldest. Now, on the social group's page, there's what looks like one thread with all the old discussions. It seems like you can create different threads per group...which is a nice feature, but it would be nice to the hold messages listed on the front page too. Is there a way to get the old messages on the group's page, in addition to have the ability to create threads within the group? Maybe we can have a listing of the threads per group the way it is, and have the old general discussions underneath it?
I concur. I can no longer read the posts within social group messages. My font enlarger is a pain to use and eliminates part of the screen and really shouldn't be necessary. Unless its enlarged I can no longer be part of that group. Add: The social name/link needs to be clicked onto to enter the social group now instead of the current posts being already available upon entering and you also now need to go from the very beginning of a social groups postings and have to key back to the latest entries. Could be a fix hopefully?
The social groups take longer to access now, with a few extra clicks. As mentioned by others, the social groups are better when sorted in reverse chronological order. It currently opens on the oldest message, so you have to jump to the last page each time. I prefer the old sort order.
ok, some of the social group issues should be better. And it looks like the images got reverted to default. we'll fix those. any other issues? arn
The newest post is now on top, back in reverse chronological order as preferred by most, but the reply box is still at the bottom of the page, so one would have to scroll back to bottom of page to reply. Could the reply box be where it used to be? (Ideally, is there anyway to let us pick like in our UserCP setttings how the posts are displayed like in the main forum area?)
The quote button is still the regular orange one and not in the same style as the new ones. At least on OS X Lion Safari. I can confirm that this issue is not prevalent in Firefox or Chrome. Only Safari.
