Yeah, I'm here with you man. All these naysayers drive me crazy. I think Trade West if they are still around should file a suit maybe against Capcom for copyright infringement on Double Dragon. I mean since Final Fight and Double Dragon are so close to being the same game. Need to rescue a girl from the cluthes of evil characters while beating up bad people with kung fu moves.
Clearly you are forgetting Aggregate Aftereffect, and Space Wars Confederate Commando... and my personal favorite Fracture Cell Prometheus Yesterday!
Jeez, Gameloft will run out of ideas if they keep on going at this rate. I'm struggling to think of a genre that Gameloft hasn't covered yet. And I would be browsing the iTunes genre sections, if they hadn't been removed . Anyway, Gameloft really is the beef of idevice gaming. If you don't like Gameloft, you don't like games. oh, and I suspect that this will not be the last game from gameloft that uses their new FPS engine. I'm thinking maybe a WW2 FPS (i.e - BIA, MoH, CoD etc) and a free roaming FarCry/Crysis type game? That would be awesome.
Wait. My personal favorite game was missed in the list from le'deuche123 "Metallic Gears : The Guns for the patriots.
This+100 Thank you for saving me the time of saying the same thing over and over! This + 100! I'll also add that it's because of, not in spite of, companies like Gameloft that the quality of games are improving. The last few weeks of releases exemplify this. Other devs will have to compete to keep up and the quality will continue to improve from what we're already seeing. Also, how does it hurt indie developers in any way to have their own products available on an even playing field, right next to that of larger companies? If an indie dev makes a great game we're all smart enough here to recognize that. Apple has given devs a fair and even platform to sell their wares. It's still up to indies to make games we all want to play. North to the Future! T.O.
It's hard to run out of ideas when so many other people are releasing so many other games that you can just unabashedly clone. I'm quite certain that gameloft will never "run out of ideas". Still, no one else seems to be bringing these games to iPhone, so hats off to Gameloft for giving us another platform to experience them on. And occassionally they come out with 1 or 2 original gems....occassionally.
No no no. Sorry, I gotta disagree with you. You can't copyright a game genre. You can't copyright a UI. Gameloft isn't doing anything wrong at all. And, if any of you complainers would actually exercise a bit of patience you will see that Gameloft is going to lead the way for other companies, who will in turn give you more original and satisfying game experiences. Gameloft has proven that it can be done. South to Alaska T.O.
That would probably crash every iPod there is .... It will take up too much memory for the App Store to handle and will explode into a million bits :O.. Okay joking... Gameloft shure knows how to do the impossible! Look at Gameloft progressing against Ngmoco's Eliminate. I mean if I could get atleast 3-4 new games from Gameloft (Nova, Dungeon Hunter, and Gangstar), I could get one Ngmoco game -_-, or if I get 3 of Com2us/Gamevil's games I would get (Hybird Eternal Whisper, Chronicles of Inotia 2, and Zenonia 1/2) :|...
This. Seriously when is gameloft going to make their own game? Their games are becoming more and more obvious they are cloning. It was obvious before but this looks almost exactly like Halo. I guess that's not a bad thing but still...
I think that Gameloft has come to the point where they have realised that they can churn out tons of good quality, generic games and save on their production costs by re-using their game engines (and skipping voice acting in some games, lol). Hence their new low price of £3.99. They just rely on tons of sales across their wide variety of cheap games to make their money. It will be interesting to see what will happen in the future. Will they ever increase their prices? I can't see them as being the first dev to start charging higher prices for their games (leave that to ngmoco or Chillingo ), but they already have a good position in the iPhone gaming world, and I would say that they are ahead of most developers in bringing console game experiences to the iPhone. So if they are the first to make PS3 quality games on the iPhone (in the year 2015, for example), then would they raise their prices?
Well we all live in hope... Come off it, this is NOT full online multiplayer, just local and BT too. See this from Pocketgamer or this from engadet (see 10.46am). Classic! Couldn't sum up Sega any better!
lol@ the halo wannabe. I wish Gameloft would inject some creativity in to their games instead of just cashing in on the fame of other series.
And you are an official Gameloft rep? You don't look like one. We don't know anything about the multiplayer options yet, because this game hasn't even been completed/released. Making a statement about a game which hasn't been released is stupid, but trying to correct a statement about a game which hasn't been released is just as stupid.
When they say multiplayer via wi-fi, do they mean local wi-fi multiplayer? Surely not, because why would you have voice chat support when you can only play local multiplayer and not online. I'm guessing this game has online (just a guess).
Actually sir, I am. You are talking to the head of Gameloft's marketing company, Hiroshima Ketakimachupichu. Please stand down as all your allegations at my client, Harold Lauder, are completely unfounded. If you would like, please talk to my Secretary, Stu Redman, or my Secretary's Secretary, Glen Bateman. If you wish to speak to the real Gameloft head, please contact Randall Flagg. Thank you. Also, in-game chat is bloody awesome. Can't wait for my own game to be released!
