My wife liked Catch a Mouse 3 and Flight control and she hates games... For her its got to be simple... Which is probably why she married me...
She won't be climbing towards any high places but she digs Alien Glyphs, has played several times, and improved quite a bit since I introduced it to her a few days ago. It takes zero coordination, like other one-finger games, which lets one focus more the symbols themselves, compared to the kinds of matching games where you have to move and rotate pieces. It's disappointing that Lumines has gotten bad reviews, because it was her favorite portable game on the PSP when I still owned one and she still asks about that game from time to time. Some things were just not meant to be on the iphone.
My wife loves scoops and kaga mochi But she plays cake mania a lot, she's a huge fan and has beaten all of them
Just a reminder, NimbleBit's entire collection of games will be free tomorrow (including Scoops). Many of our games are popular with the ladies...
My mom and gf are both eating up the Rummage leaderboards! Rummage is like the baby of Bejeweled and Scrabble... My mom and girlfriend are both eating up the OpenFeint leaderboards for Rummage!
The user base for Card Shark Solitaire (judging from emails) is heavily skewed female. Not sure if it's because woman are more outgoing or more likely to use support email, or if this reflects the actual user base. And on a more freaky note, the young daughters of my friends love Bug Juice (a realistic guilt-free bug-squashing simulator that doesn't get your hands dirty).
You'd probably claim I was a bit biased - but Wriggle is worth a shot. The puzzle set was co-developed by a woman (errrr... me!) and many of my playtesters were women. The youngest was 11 and was absolutely crazy about it. My Mum burnt at least one meal because of it. My sister discarded her Nintendo DS in favour of it. If you like puzzle apps - try it. There's also a free version to try.
My wife loves Sneezies. It makes her laugh and every time she plays she makes some comment about how cute they are.
Women are just like men with gaming most of the time. They like hook champ, need for speed, and real racing. But they also like cutesy games like sway, sally's spa, puzzlings, and scoops.
My girlfriend so far has enjoyed: Monopoly Rising Blocks Treasures of Montezuma Drop7(probably her favorite) Collapse Link Lines Sudoku(by EA) Peggle Bejeweled 2(this is the game that made her want an iPod Touch in the first place) Stoneloops Burger Time(I think that's what it's called, from Nimblebit)
WTF?? We ARE just like anyone else male or female. I don't go for cutesy games just because I'm female, I go for a game because it's a quality game, fun to play etc. Anyone expecting women to like all TM games or only specific genre is way wayyy off.
Calm down, im a girl! Im saying that people should not ask the question: What kind of games do women like. I was saying that we are just like the guys. We go for games that look good. You read my post all wrong!
Huh? I'm not talking to you, I'm talking about some men who just automatically think girls like cute little TM, sweet lil games. I think this is out of ignorance because they either don't know any women who play or this is just something they are brought up thinking. I agree that the question is nonsense, there is no reason to ask it because we are on equal footing and we are going to like games of all genres. No worries girl, it's all good and glad we got this cleared up
Me three! I already got crucified on this thread at one point for saying all girls like TM or hidden object games is like saying all guys like shooters! Dang all I meant was that everyone is equal on the gaming front - everyone likes what they like and I will go out on a limb and say someone who likes to play games likes to play LOTS of genres! Shooters, puzzlers, casuals, TD, TM, you name it. My iTouch has like EVERY category on it! I think maybe a better question would be - because it pertains to male AND female - what games do NON GAMERS like?
We women and girls like ALLLLL kinds of games. I'm going to show you a few screencaps of my iTunes Apps section. It should give you some ideas as to what THIS lady likes to buy and play. Not always play though -- because with over 3000 apps, I just don't have the time. You'll see NBA Live, FIFA 10, Field Runners, Family Guy, Asphalt 5, Doom Classic and you'll see FashionTV, Disney Cards, Doodle Jump, Farm Frenzy, and a whole mess of Word apps. Am I typical of women app purchasers? Who knows. But I do think women are the most eclectic buyers of apps, because we rarely think "Hey, is this game mostly for guys?", like sometimes guys ask themselves if this app is usually enjoyed by girls. We are just not socialised to feel that something guys play somehow throws a bad light unto our femininity -- as the reverse is for men. I hope the screenshots help the OP with his or her question, tho' probably a her as the nick is "Fairlady".
