I'd also love this, but sadly the rights are owned by some idiot who won't share them! However, someone has modded Doom 2 so you can play it in Goldeneye environments (if your Jailbroken) http://rapidshare.com/files/79073269/goldeneye.WAD.html
I'll +1 the suggestions of cave story a few pages back. And add Warlords to the mix - the TBS that is, probably best Warlords II, it made it to the DS ... omg in fact a little googling suggests that never was actually released, that's ... but suffice it to say, if anyone ever got to do it, and did it well, there really wouldn't need to be any other games. Too bad those guys focus on a glorified match-3 these days.
RoboSport I played RoboSport a lot in 1992. It's an awesome turn-based-skirmish strategy game that would be a no-brainer for iPhone/iPad development. You have 5 different types of robots at your disposal, each with it's own weaponry and capabilities. The competition is run in a number of intervals giving you time to reprogram your robots and set them loose to destroy your opponent.
fallout 1 or fallout 2 would be fun, or even fallout tactics those would work well on iphone... (im a fallout addict right now)
I would love to see something based on D&D 3.5 (not 4.0, which sucks), like the CRPGs of the 90s (Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, etc.).
Yes to all of those but only if MVC was MVC2 (but that game would be extremely hard to play on a touch screen )
Metal Gear Solid Grand Theft Auto III (just thinking realistically... I'd prefer San Andreas after watching some gameplay earlier, but with the stuff you can do in that game I'd doubt it) Doom 3 Quake 2 (way better than the first game) The World Ends With You Phoenix Wright: Justice for All and Trials and Tribulations 007 Nightfire (I liked it a bit better than Goldeneye, but that's just me) Metroid Fusion (curse you Nintendo...) Resident Evil 1-3 Front Mission Dynasty Warriors 4 (but then again, that game even slows down my PS2 at times... But with some graphical adjustments it could work) Fallout/Fallout 2
the Breath of Fire series, especially BOF3 and 4, my favorites. the Lunar Silver Star Story series Tales of series Older Final Fantasy games (7 and down, and especially 6) A real Harvest Moon game, not a lame puzzle game Any of these would bring some badly needed, comprehensive RPGs to the ipod.
Lunar Silver Star Harmony is awesome, never played the original though, just the PSP remake. Powerstone 1+2 is on the PSP as well for whoever mentioned it. I don't know how well the controls would be on the iPhone though. FF7 could work and they could get away with only charging 10 bucks since that's what they're charging on the PS Store. I'm not a fan of FF7 myself, I just think it's okay. But most other people are in love with it. I'd like to see TWEWY, but again I'm not sure I'd love the controls as much as the DS version. More than ports though I'd like to see new/original and interesting games come out for the iPod. Something of the same caliber as Soosiz, Revolt, Reckless Racing, and others that just don't come to mind right now.
Sands of Time!! Gameloft should port ubisoft's Prince of Persia Sands of Time. They already ported Warrior Within, so Sands of Time wouldn't be too hard to port
