Most shooting games don't have that mechanic, but they are all repetitive. "Shoot to thrill. Play to kill." The most repetitive gameplay has always been in racing and shooting games, but it's fun and addictive repetition. In Fallout 3, I ended up doing a number of my kills with the lock on function. It was repetitive as hell and really didn't accompany the action of them firing back at you, I just liked to see the result. At least in this game, you will still be shot at while doing the aim, but the lock on target idea will make it harder and will require more effort, since you can't just pull out a machine gun and spray. The thing I'm getting at is, why, with iPod Touch gaming skepticism, are people just beginning to find out that shooters and racing games are repetitive? Everyone loved the game-stopping auto aim function in Fallout 3. My point is that it's not at all supposed to be like the Godfather. There's a big difference between a family of rich Italian American Mobsters from the 40's and two low class modern Latino American wannabe gangsters. You can't expect a Latin gang to behave like an Italian mafia. It would be just unrealistic and would make the story worse, I think. And it doesn't have to have a hugely complex storyline. It's a game. Not a movie, or a book, or even a song. And since it's a sandbox game, which means an over developed story line is not really a good idea (precisely why Rockstar never gave a complex storyline to GTA games. No one knows the sandbox crime genre better than they do). I really don't care about the story that much. In my experience, a complex story line is annoying and often gets in the way of me playing the game for long periods of time (Metal Gear Solid lol). I'm not completely sure why you think there is an over focus on killing. It seems to me like most the focus of the game goes to driving, and after reading about the limo mission, sometimes law obedient driving. I just hope the game does have non story missions so there's still stuff I can do after the game's initial storyline has been beaten. Since when has doing drugs ever been beneficial to anyone's wallet???!?!?! lol I'm just kidding I know what you mean, and it seems that the game does have "fetch and delivery" quests. About property, once again, think of the context. This focus is on modern Latin gangs. Not to be racist or anything, but they don't really partake in real estate. Same with the prostitution. I mean, yeah, there are a lot of LATINA prostitutes but Latino? If you mean being a pimp, remember that these are just hood boys dreaming about getting rich. Becoming pimps wouldn't happen anytime soon. Gee, I'm sorry, man. It's just hard to keep calm. I'm really excited about this. I just want to talk about it with someone, and what better to do than to have a debate about it with someone else? Of course, if you want to get off of the debate and tell me about the "plenty you do like" then feel free to chat about it. I'm all ears (or all eyes in this case).
I'm expecting actions 1) grab a grenade, put it in a guy's mouth and explosion, all the blood and meat spread on my screen. 2) grab a guy's eye ball use my fingers, and then yes. foot crushes eyeball (blood is required) and etc etc.... I think that game should be 18+
Wow. That video looks great. Question: Can you make the on screen controls transparent or something to make them less visible?
I'll have to admit, this is true. But, Gameloft said they would actually update this game every once in a while with new content. I'm sure if enough people crave motorcycles, that's what we'll get. Motorcycles on the iPod Touch would be awesome. Think of the wheelie possibilities.
Note that Gameloft does not have a history of updating apps regularly. One may thus infer that Gameloft plans to use DLC as part of OS 3.0 for in game purchasing of upgrades and such.
I'm a little misinformed. What does "DLC" mean? I believe that this will be a big game for Gameloft. I think they might actually stick with it. Here's what I picked up from TA's preview: "There is currently no online gameplay or scoreboard component, but Gameloft indicates that they are now in the process of planning upgrades that will be released over time, adding features to the title."
Ahh. It looks like that problem has been solved. So do you think that they are going to do the DLC thing?
I think the answer to that is most definitely. Gameloft will make more money that way. also I'm very glad that there is online gameplay That's great news!
i've been thinking that maybe this might come out early since they are pushing it ....will it need 3.0?
I'm almost 100% sure it will need 3.0. So gameloft has said nothing about release date except for later this year huh?
"You can try your own hand at causing chaos on the streets of LA when Gangstar hits the App Store in August."
Well, it's supposedly an accurate replica of Los Angeles, California. Don't worry. The game will work on the older software. But with 3.0, you get cooler features like having the radio play your own music.
I couldn't help but laughing at that. That's funny stuff, man. Funny stuff. Hmm, I guess that won't be a bad thing at all. The more money that Gameloft makes, the more stuff they can do, and you know Gameloft. They never stop working. I know, the whole Gameloft online thing. It's great, right?
