It is strange with $7.99, but I think that some people think that $9.99 is too much, but $7.99 is suitable.

I personally don't mind purchasing $9.99 games, aslong as they deserve the price.

I have yet to buy a $9.99 game, just because there hasn't been a game of that price that appeals to me, except for Rolando 2, but I'd rather get Gang$tar first.

Rolando 2 is excellent, and IMO, far surpasses its predecessor, with it's 2.5 D interface, and incredibly enjoyable gameplay.
Gang$tar is at the top of my list for upcoming games to purchase.

Same here. I plan to get Gang$tar first or second day!
Rolando 1 was awesome enough, and hearing that 2 is much better makes me want it even more. But I don't think I will be getting 2 and 3 until Christmas.

You've played Payback, haven't you? I like how Payback has non story missions in Rampage or challenge where you can just get free missions without complying to the story and can get them again if you play long enough. Do you think Gang$tar will have various repeating non story missions? missions to do to take a break from the story or after the story is already done? I hope Gameloft will have incorporated those by release.

Yeh I've played it :) Good game.
I think that would be a great feature in Gang$tar.
Maybe if Gameloft don't incorporate it into the game, maybe it could be another feature you could suggest to them.

Payback was bland (at least visually). CJS improved on that, but lacks variety in missions and both lack a proper story. Anyway the lack of hype is not true - previews have been added on many gaming sites - Kotaku, IGN, TA, STP, iphone games network and this thread is growing pretty quick.

Read the previews - 1 of them confirms that there are some, but not many side missions.
EDIT: Can't find it in any of those I linked to - must of read it somewhere else...

Well, it seems very well hyped on other sites, but not as much on this one. How ironic..

Don't worry. I just saw it linked on page one of this thread.

"There are mini or side missions to keep things varied as well, such as heading across town to pick up a gun at a friend's house."

I bet there will be mini racing missions too. I just hope the mini missions repeat themselves every once in a while so I have fun objectives to accomplish even after the game's plot has been beaten.

Yeh, little side missions to complete even when all your main missions have been completed is a great idea.

I hope that the "side-missions" reflect that Gameloft are implementing a few of these into the game :)

Here is another hands on preview of Gameloft's upcoming Gang$tar.

This new preview discusses some new features that haven't been known about up to this point, including:

    • Cheat Modes
    • Details on bribing cops, and other "services".
    • A alleged separate version, specifically optimised for iPhone 3GS.
    • Expected pricing ($9.99/£5.99)
    • Expected 15 hours+ playtime (Missions only)
    • Social gaming with Facebook, Twitter, and Gameloft Live!

    • Weapons and items include:

    •Single 9mm pistol
    •Dual pistols
    •Uzi(s)
    •Shotgun
    •AK47 rifle
    •RPG- style rocket launcher
•Sniper rifle - with a zoomed-in scope that you can be moved around the screen.
•Camera - possibly for spying missions.

    Sounds great! :)

OK, I have seen all the preview videos so far and read all of the preview articles and I have yet to see ANY "gunplay"! I feel that the guns/shooting mechanic will make or break this game and it's frustrating to have all this info and still be so unclear about it!

I know there is auto-aim but is the shooting mechanic similiar to Gameloft's others like Terminator/BIA? Is there a cover system? I know you can use a scope with the sniper rifle but will you be able to zoom in over the shoulder (ala BIA) or not (ala Terminator)?

Anyway it's looking pretty good so far!

I actually cannot wait for this game. I want it so bad, I put all the screenshots on my iDevice, so I could see what it looks like :D

Haha, good idea, and I'm sure that the graphics will look better than they do in the screenshots when it's the actual game, which is promising :)

C'mon, GTA is like 50 euro and Gangster is like 30/40% of the size ? What the **** is 6 pond? You can pay for a € 600 device but not for €20 euro games..
Every one would like games like FF, GTA, ... for the iPhone but you think they gonna make a game for 6 euro profit??? 20 euro for a game is a good price, if you got a psp, ps3, wii you also pay for the CD,cover, shipment.. iPhone ain't got those problems.
