Hi, On this note, I leave this thread and just shudder to think what other comments will be made. David
Hi, I am impressed, you have shown your backside in two consecutive posts. Great feat, be proud. David
I asked my best friend, who is gay, about this. We have both seen the film and he thinks this claim is ridiculous because... ...a) We have no idea if Na'vi can actually be gay, as my friend thinks he was born gay and maybe the blue guys just don't, ever ...b) The professions of sports and military (for men at least) have the least openly homosexual people, so really it isn't that surprising, and anyway the majority of the soldiers were men, and they probably got a little lonely so it is safe to assume that they some of them did succumb to their needs...
+1 This is not news; this is troll bait at my expense. No gay publications are running this story. The community at large has much bigger fish to fry. I am more concerned when gay characters are type cast as hilariously flamboyant (yet inconsequential) and tragic martyrs.
I just think it is hilarious that this stupid protest is going on at all. Are they suggesting that gays somehow look different- that there is a STEREOTYPICAL GAY? I'm insulted that someone thinks that being gay means you are constantly discussing your sex life. I can't think of the last time I told the barista at Starbucks, ' Hey, barista, did you know I am heterosexual and I porked my girlfriend last night? Yep, I'm havin teh hetero sex... I'd be havin' it NOW, but I'm getting coffee. I'll be heading home and getting some of that hetero porkin' going on though.' hetero.
If you read through the comments on the post he made on 8/17 (the day before Avatar was released), you see that he thinks evolution will make people gay so they take up less resources. Please tell me this guy is severely mentally retarded... Please... I can't take the stupidity anymore!... It's... It's just not worth it... Too... many... stupid... people... Good bye... BANG! Don't worry guys, I got 'im.
Has anyone even seen the monsters? They are all extremely flamboyant with their colors and what-nots.
Anarchy! Suddenly I think you're cool, 'cause Avatar is popular and well-received and you will not stand for that!
Look, all I want is 1 ****ing dialogue based blockbuster to come out a year, just one. After transformers 2, I felt like my eyes were raped and I refuse to go see another fully 3d piece of crap ever again, especially if it has blue WoW elves frollicking around the forest together. Is it so wrong to want to see actual human beings in a film?
You wanna start importing then, lots of foreign films can't afford CG like Hollywood can. I saw "Let the Right One In" the other week, a Swedish horror/romance vampire film. Don't worry, it was nothing like Twilight. The mis-en-scene was amazing.
I'm such a non-conformist that I will not conform with dogmeat and see Avatar and like it. There, what do you think of that?
