Hi, I had heard of others having the same experience as you and I too. My Mea Culpa was one of not wanting to get emotions riled up over the issue. David
I requested a refund for Asphalt 5 when it was 1st released and deleted it off my iPhone. Downloaded again to see if it would work and it said I had already downloaded this app so the update was free. You do not have to pay for the app again.
It seems that there's really no right or wrong here. For some people it does work and for some it doesn't. Haven't personally asked Apple Customer Service what the policy is, but I suspect that once you get a refund you're not supposed to get any further updates. But just like with everything else in the App Store, it doesn't work as it should.
Well it's wonderful that MAYBE you don't get charged when you download again following a refund etc, except none of this useless point-scoring answers my questions. I live in the UK, I applied for a refund 2 months ago, got ignored (getting used to that feeling!), now have no way of chasing it up.
I would ask for a refund. Whenever that happens to me (most of the time it happens when I re-download songs that have gotten deleted when I have to reload my PC) I just send them a ticket and they are usually good about giving me a refund.
Just a slight correction. These days I find that the app store works perfectly well 99% of the time (and I buy a lot of apps, in case people haven't noticed ). The refund system is a bit wonky, though, in part because it involves coordination with the original app publisher. Apple should have a support number for the UK -- just look on the website.
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact.html?form=app_store&topic=App%20Store&subtopic=Troubleshooting%20Applications @square, guess I'm not in love(in like?) with the App Store as much as some EDIT: Though reading back to my statement I'd like to change it to "But just like with some things in the App Store, it doesn't always work as it should.
eh, i got ripped for 2.99 because some dumb PDF iPad app was broken, i told my mom i tried to get it refunded and she just said don't even worry about it. It made me think that some people are really going crazy over their dollars since the app store came out I bet apple is real sick of .99c apps not working and refunding pocket change.
"In like" is probably fair. I just remember the early days of the App Store, where a failed update on a app managed to brick my phone (had to get a new one from Apple). Things have improved significantly since then.
Here's my 2 cents.... put that with the rest of the posts here and you have your refund covered now get over it, its a buck or two! (said in a friendly joking manner for the record)
There are several apps I would like a refund for (Night Shot, anyone? D: ), but I won't resort to asking for a refund unless it has been falsely advertised or something. I wouldn't ask for a refund for something that I personally hated.. I think if more people start asking for refunds for that, the system will be abused way too much, and I fear Apple might stop giving refunds altogether Save the refund requests for things that deserve to be refunded. Not just things you didn't like as much as you thought you would.
namco may owe me a refund is they do not fix there software.. grr. id rather have the game tho.. so crosses fingers they fixing it. chris.
