PHOENIXWRIGHTPHEONIXWRIGHTPHOENIXWRIGHT!!!!!!!!! Yeah, doesn't matter how old you are, as long as you can read and press buttons on a touch screen, you need this game. It's too awesome. As for good suggestions for your bro, there's this sonic game I think it's Sonic Rush and New Super Mario Brothers. Both are pretty good, although I prefer Mario. Warioware is also great too. It was my first DS game and I still play it.
I can't believe no one has mentioned Professor Layton (Maybe they did, but i missed it)... Best game I have played to date on the DS... Also any other recommendations on the D/L games?..
I'd take Sonic Rush before Sonic Rush Adventure. Besides being the prequel, I liked it a bit more. It's a more conventional platformer and that's basically what I like in Sonic.
I just lost @1337brian: It's hard to recommend too many DSi Ware games, cause currently the store is cluttered with crap. My DSi came with 1000 free Nintendo points to use, and I didn't even buy something until months later when that pinball game came out. My only other purchase was Castle of Magic, but I can safely say each of those games is worth the $5 I spent on them. As for some things that are on my radar but I haven't purchased yet: 200 point games: Army Defender - looks cool Bird & Beans - action puzzler Robot Rescue - cool puzzler that IGN gave a good review to 500 point games Bejeweled Twist - self explanatory Bomberman Blitz - Old school Bomberman with ONLINE PLAY over wifi. Bookworm - in case you don't have it on iPhone already Dr. Mario Express - a no frills but competent version of Dr. Mario Dragon Quest Wars - TBS game also with online play WarioWare Snapped - WarioWare game that uses the DSi's cameras 800+ point games Dragon's Lair - just came out, but I'm imagining the iPhone version is better Mario vs Donkey Kong - mini version of the full blown DS game Mighty Flip Champs - interesting game that uses flipping the two different DS screens. Supposed to be brutally hard but looks unique enough that this will probably be my next purchase. Rayman - a classic! New games come out every Monday for the DSi store. Also, it's not a downloadable game, but one of my absolute favorite DS games is Retro Game Challenge. If you liked old NES games, you have to pick this up, it's amazing.
Really should get a DS Lite instead of a DSi, the loss of the GBA slot for some cameras is a horrible tradeoff. Especially when there are more good GBA games than DS games... Maybe that's just me, I'd rather have a GBA SP than a DS so I can play original Gameboy games.
lol, you guys are kinda over-estimating what a 7 year-old would want. When I was in the first grade, I got Pokemon Yellow, and had absolutely no clue what I was doing. I'd be confused every time my Pikachu would go from happy to sad. He's definitely not gonna get Phoenix Wright, but anyways, these're the games I'm getting him. New Super Mario Bros. Sonic Rush (original) If there cash leftover, I'll add in some spare change, get him Mario Kart. Scribblenauts kinda makes me wish I had a DS, too, but my 360 and iPod'll suffice.
