I don't think you're doing anything wrong. I'm assuming you've beaten the boss at the end of the first island? If that's the case, then I can only assume that something went wrong in the tutorial. Either you lost the tutorial or you quit out during it. I think the only thing to do is give the game a reset...
There are going to be more levels. Boss levels are currently at the end of odd-numbered islands. What level are you, relative to the level of the quest? The negative material glitch? That should be fixed in the new version - although you'll have to reset your progress to have a representative playthrough... I've also changed the criteria for familiar breaks. Previously, they'd just kick in when you'd taken a set amount of damage. Now the amount of damage you have to take scales with your level. In theory it should mean that it still kicks in with the same sort of regularity rather than appearing quicker and quicker as you get further into the game.
Character level 27; the Bathylisks on 20.4 are supposedly level 37 but getting instakilled by even minimal attacks-- I just single-shotted one with a 2-glyph water spell (215 pts). All of the surrounding levels have mnsters with a d cidedly higher number of hit points.
Fleeing from challenge mode, at least before making any moves, causes the game to crash right as the "up for a challenge" achievement unlocks. From then on, the achievement icon has a 1 on it, but that achievement is still locked. Not sure if I missed a previous post, but I'm unable to buy any of the IAPs in the shop. It just asks for my Touch ID a few times and gives up. Also, I mentioned before that the loyalty card IAP isn't descriptive enough. I meant that it doesn't say how much better it is than the stock card. I assumed, going in, that it would halve the required stamps, but it only reduces the stamps by two.
I waited through the holidays for the invite. Kept checking my email then I got it! And I can't put it down. This game is fantastic. Thanks again for inviting me as well as having space for me to test/play/enjoy.
Any crash just after an achievement unlocks will result in that stupid mismatch in how many it thinks you've got left over. More concerning is the crash in the first place. I'll have a looksee Are you signed in with the same email address that you used to apply for the beta? Only the linked Apple ID that's in our database will be able to access the IAPs. I changed the Alchemist but we haven't touched the Loyalty Card for a while. I think the reward for filling is going to have to change as it's far too easy to play for a very long time without running into Mana problems - which, sucky as it may seem, is going to be a problem for us. Ah, the joys of designing systems for people who don't ever want to pay you for it...
Menagerie available prior to unlock Twice now I've seen the Menagerie available in Helmstone prior to the "official" unlock notification. Not sure what the trigger for the event is, but could it get out of sync somehow?
This has come up before. It's supposed to be tied to the number of new quests you've started, but I'm thinking of simplifying it and making it just the player level.
Yeah, it's the same account. It worked with a previous build (maybe two builds ago), and I've changed nothing on my phone except updating to the latest beta build. Even something as simple as writing "10->8 stamps" would clear it up.
Will do. Although as we're still playing with the numbers of stamps, that's something that's going to wait until it's been finalised.
WRT the buyable bundles of crafting goods, there seems to be one component that isn't used for anything-- a little pile of stuff with an eyeball? (suddenly remembers to buy out menagerie) Oh-- it's owl food? The yellow-orange ore is rather over-represented in how many items/pets need the stuff, by comparison. The music/fx sliders don't mute anymore. I feel kinda bad about muting since I know you've put work into the sound design, but sometimes I want to listen to something else while playing. I've only encounted one Satyr so far, but it killed me with an extended Headbutt stun loop, which was annoying. Don't know yet if it happens every time. The Naga Blade Singer is still freezing the game with "Singing Blades", though.
Game kicks me out Hi On island 4 level 9, when you get low health and use a potion the game just closes. I have repeated this bug 5 times in a row.
If my notes are right, 6 out of the 9 familiar types eat ore; only one (the normal owl) eats the eyebally monster bits, which are not required for crafting. All of the Sun and Earth items (and the Fire robes) require ore to craft, so there's a huge demand for ore. May I suggest increasing ore drops and/or changing some of the familars' diets? Is the "Stop poking me!" achievement bar supposed to increment from directly tapping monsters during comat and causing the large poky finger to appear? Because if so, right now it doesn't seem to-- afaik nothing registers on that achievement bar at all. In the spell library, would you consider systematically color-coding the spellbooks so it's easier to figure out missing spells? I suppose combos would have to be striped or something... maybe also start with empty gem sockets to indicate how many upgrades are available? It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize that spell upgrades were available at all (yay Tip Rat!}.
Yup - it looks like a material requirement re-jig is in order. Good stat work my friend. Nope. Keep looking Good suggestion. Could stick the element icon on the book perhaps? Two for combos... Also, more has been done to improve the 'onboarding' - that is, the various characters pop up in Helmstone from time to time to remind you about certain features - upgrading Gear, Spells, etc.
Audio bug Upgraded to latest version, launched with phone's silent switch on and the games music setting almost all the way off (but not red indicating off). Switched silent mode off, turned up the volume on the sliders and physically on the phone, only get sfx audio. Force quitting the game and reloading the game "fixes" it as a usable work around.
