Iron Fist Boxing Mini Squadron Hanged (the icon has no personality the game has, what's with the gloss and red border?? make it like the rest of the game please) Rick Rocketson (even the full version is so messy and feels like a lite!) The Quest expansion (the quest and the quest gold are fine though) Aera (it's alright, but never looks good wherever I put it) Super Monkey Ball 2 (SMB1 has better icon) and of course.. +1 Makes me feel like my iPhone is subsidized by OF.
I really, really don't understand that. How can people get pissed over icons (and even refuse to install and play the game)? Isn't it the game that counts? Or is it about coolness and style? Imho - it's like don't eating a banana because it is not perfectly shaped. Any explanations?
Well Said Vovin I do not hate ANY icons THAT much that I'd Not PLAY the game... Just that the icons cud hav been MUCH bettr
Yeah I still keep games with bad icons. All my games are tucked away in a folder however, so my default springboard still looks beautiful with all my own custom icons

Yeah, nobody buys these magazines because of the bikes... The same for iPhone games: if an icon looks bad it implies the game is bad as well. Of course this is nonsense but the first contact with a new game is essential and the first thing you notice is its icon.
its not complete nonsense. i would say that usually a good game has a good icon and bad games have bad icons. but, some bad games have good icons and vice vers
The icon is the packaging and it is extremely important. A very small percentage of iPhone app buyers come onto TA and other online review sites, so their minds are made up when they browse the icons on the mobile app store and iTunes. A buyer won't click to investigate if the icon isn't catching, interesting, or professional.
