Well, graphics aren't that important for me too, but I simply hate this style, and tell me, how could I play something, that I hate to look at? How could I hope, that the gameplay is so awesome as some people say?

No: I'd rather you said you looked at it and it didn't appeal to you. Ratings assume comparisons, and you can't compare hours playing DH with a couple of minutes looking over someone's shoulder at Ravensword. It's like reading the first few pages of Lord of the Rings and saying it's not as good The Chronicles of Narnia (which you have read from cover to cover).

Touche! Imagine me saying that about Ravensword, only I would refer to the gameplay instead of graphics.
    I guess we're in stalemate.

Square0: Don't want to turn this into a flamewar or anything. I was just saying it didn't do it for me and explained why it didn't. Then I rated the games according to how much they appealed me. Those stars and the order was just there for a comparison, but the real message was above that, where I said I tried it but was put off due to the fact I couldn't play it because of that small screen and my bulky fingers.

Nope, Faeryan, as you've tried Ravensword for a few minutes only, while I've checked the lite versions of many popular JRPG-s. They were crappy.

No flaming -- just an honest disagreement. Your reason for not wanting to play it is perfectly valid.

That's your opinion and I respect that. No reason for me to complain about it.

I also respect your opinion, even though I don't agree with it.

Also, people calling Inotia 2 the best RPG made me wonder why. Can you talk a bit more about it?

Tried Ravensword since there seems to be so much fuss about it. Gotta say it was really bad investment.

The graphics aren't as slick as they seem at first glance. Run around a bit and the terrain starts to look awful.
I went and got a club to beat some rats and that I did. Got me a few coins while at it. Gained a level too. Apparently my Str went up by a notch. Yay! Some more running around the town like a headless chicken. Couldn't tell where I was and I kept bumping into same few people all the time.
Whenever I went into a house it loaded a bit and some person told me I needed some weapons I didn't have (nor did I have any money to buy them). Some more loading when I got back out and after a while a crash. Good thing the game had autosaved and I could continue from where I was before. Some more aimless wandering until I got bored.

Sounds like a nice game, but not for my iPhone. I'd prefer to play games like this on a computer. I'm going to give it yet a better try tomorrow while I bore at work.

Balu´: I thought I was pretty thorough on my first post. What I need is a belief that I'm unique, that's why I play RPG's instead of Super Mario where everyone plays the same Mario dude. I bet it's the same for all of us RPG peeps.
Other thing I need is a lot to do. The more hours I can spend on a game the better it becomes. Of course this has to be something meaningful, not running around in circles.

Like mentioned in my first post, I like those old school Final Fantasy type games. Lots of numbers and micro management and I'm sold. War strategy games normally don't get me since there's so many troops to take care of. It has to be only one char or a small party at most.
Also a free world where one can travel around a bit instead of running in a pipe. To go to some level 7 places at level 4 and maybe managing to beat some monsters and get some gear that I wouldn't normally get. Greater risk brings greater rewards so to say.
Inotia 2 just has the most things matching to make it interesting for me. Sure DH would beat it hands down if it would have been a bit longer and maybe not as linear in nature.
Vay actually came pretty close to Inotia 2. Haven't played it through but I have a hunch I'm almost done with Vay. If not then it will be the first in my list for sure.
Just give me any old FF game on iPhone and it will be the messiah game for me. I'm too old and clumsy for action RPG's, I want mine tunr-based. Still, action RPG's are pretty much all I get.

This all of course from an iPhone point of view. On PC my favourite games list would be a bit different. Really liked Oblivion and its predecessors, and surprisingly those are closest to Ravensword.

EDIT: Looking at my iTunes library I see I forgot to mention Undercroft and The Quest which both were amazing games. The Quest especially with both expansions (of which I only have one) offers a lot of things to do and loads of hours to spend. Also the character customization and development is much deeper than in other games I mentioned. It would have to be my top game so far when it comes to iPhone RPG's.

EDIT2: Old school Dungeon Master remake for iPhone. That'd be golden. :p~

Hm, and about Inotia 2, do you think it's worth picking up with a very limited budget, even if I hate that type of graphics? Is the gameplay really so good?

Well you seem to have a rather unreasonable grudge against 'crappy, anime-styled graphics', so judging by that, no, it's probably best if you don't get it, despite the gameplay.

This is a good point if you're picking up DH for the first time...playing all the classes simultaneously is much more fun than going straight through with one and then straight through with another...

Just jumped in this thread and holy crap you guys were fighting and then like mature people you guys said "an honest disagreement"..."i respect your opinions" That is great to hear from fellow members of the TA community :)

Now back on topic, I may buy Inotia 2 soon and Dungeon Hunter. Thank you for that comment about playing three classes for DH, i guess i will if/when i start. Would that also apply for Inotia 2 though, arent there like 5 classes?

Maybe...In I2 your party has multiple classes in in at once, whereas in DH it's just you (mostly). In DH, I would play a class up to level ten, for example, and then the next class to ten, and then the third class to ten. Then I'd go back to the first class and play it again, and so on. That kept the game a bit more surprising. Another idea someone told me was to save my skill points, and use them later when I had a better idea of what I wanted. There are no skill resets in DH.

In Inotia 2 there are 5 classes, yes. Having a party possiblity gives it more replay value. Still, I wouldn't complete the game on one char before trying the others.
I've played Inotia 2 quite a bit, just reached dwarf village (for those who know the game) and have been pondering about starting a new game with some other char. In other words you don't have to advance all chars at the same time to keep it fresh and fun, just don't ruin the ending too soon. :)

Right now I'm playing with a solo rogue. Tried teaming with a knight but he kinda ruined my "ambush them from behind" and "pick my fights" approach. :p

@davagorn: I had played so many rogues in my time so I knew how to advance my rogue in DH. Didn't have to save any points. After getting used to the game I got a pretty good knowledge of the skills so I could better allocate my skill points as a warrior. For a mage I gotta say they kinda ruined the game. You can't specialize in one elemental spell that effectively since there are different elemental monsters in the game and unless you use the spell they're vulnerable to you will have a hard time. Personally I tried concentrating on one spell and only spent what was necessary on the others. Certain skills in DH (just like in Inotia 2 (except that DH has more of them)) are level locked so knowing that it's a good idea to save some early points to be used on some higher level skill right when you reach the level to learn it.

Balu´: The gameplay isn't *that* special. If you don't like that kind of games then I'd advice against it. If you really enjoyed DH then you might like Inotia 2. If you haven't played DH then go and grab a lite version to try. Those games aren't that much alike but if you like the other then there's a chance you like the other as well. If you hate the other then I don't think you like the other that much either.
Want something new? Try Song Summoner. It's quite expensive, but there's a lite version to try so you won't lose your money if you happen not to like it.
