This is a MUST OWN TBS title. If you don't have it yet - snag it. And then purchase the extra levels and get ur butt online! =oD
You're welcome. I actually just made a blog post about this: http://www.rubicondev.com/blog/freebies/
This is definitely a game to get if you love turn based strategy war games. But I would say wait till the price goes back up if you're like me and don't do IAP. It's worth throwing a few bucks at this. If you aren't sure, get it free, definitely. The only way to grow the turn based strategy market is to get more people playing these kinds of games. I am saddened to hear that like so many other devs, y'all aren't seeing a good return on the investment.
It's holding its own to be fair, but we did hope for better. Gonna stick with it though, after our next big title we'll be doing another one and going for even more stuff in it*. (* Quite how we manage that I've no idea right now, the current game is bursting at the seems. Suggestions are welcome on our forum or here though)
Still a couple of days left before we turn off the tap. In case it matters, the game has now been nominated for a BAFTA award of all things. It only needs to beat out X:Com and several other AAA titles now.... http://awards.bafta.org/award/2013/games (strategy category)
Lol that is quite brilliant and a good achivement. But the idea of having baftas for games is stupid 'best game award' wow... Haha objectivising something that is totally subjective isnt the best idea in the world!
Congratulations on the nomination!!! That, in itself, should help get you some more exposure that you truly deserve!
The die is cast... Hey Rubicon, have you made a map for either GBWG or BLWG called...Crossing the Rubicon? Or would that be too obvious .
I actually feel pretty stupid that this didn't occur to us at any point now! In honour of your suggestion, the next time we do a free update, a map with that name will feature in it. Unless I forget again!
Awesome! It should be easy...2 forces divided by a river; IIRC the geographic location, there should be some mountains behind the friendly forces.
This is free again. More than worth full price if you even remotely like turn based strategy games. According to the app description, all of their paid games are free this weekend, but I can't confirm. I bought GLWG 2 at full price at release and can't see the price on the AppStore, although Appshopper still has it listed as $2.99. For those curious, GBWG is the only one of the of the group with multiplayer. It's very addicting for anyone who likes asynchronous multiplayer games.
Interestingly Google Play is having a similar "crazy weekend sale" with all Rubicon games $0.99 (aka not free for Android).
Zombies: Dead in 20 doesn't have GC but instead relies on social media for competition. Sort of kills any desire for me to play it. If it had GC it could be good competition but oh well, deleted. The War Games is where it's at.
