No matter if you type it all in caps, the game flopped and not many people think highly of it. Is it because not many people bought it? I would say so. Is because it sucks? No. It was a stretch from the normal nintendo games, and the consumers didn't want it. It flopped. CAPSLOCK!
Too bad for you the facts say otherwise.. this game has sold less copies every week it is out. http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=24661 1 n/a 64,611 46,351 110,962 2 n/a 35,561 38,688 74,249 3 n/a 28,158 35,999 64,157 4 n/a 36,154 24,449 60,603 5 n/a 24,981 25,165 50,146 6 n/a 19,394 15,941 35,335 7 n/a 16,338 15,894 32,232 8 n/a 13,945 12,571 26,516 9 n/a 12,110 10,342 22,452 10 n/a 11,765 9,757 21,522
Chinatown Wars now getting ported to the PSP and they are going to have a downloadable version of it for the PSPgo. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=218007 If we didnt have Apple, I think it would be better to port from the DS to the iPhone than the DS to PSP. Not only do they have to upgrade the graphics, but now they have to design the game around a thumbstick rather than touchscreen
Not a really logical argument. Commercial flops can, in fact, be highly regarded. Being highly regarded does not denote having the majority of consumers think highly of something. Example: Citizen Kane. Long regarded as quite possibly the best film ever made by film academics and filmmakers (thus highly regarded), it was actually a commercial flop during its initial theatrical run, and it is not anywhere near the top of list of highest grossing (and therefore most watched) films. There are various other examples in other mediums and industries. A work being a commercial flop does not necessarily mean that the work in question is not highly regarded. While GTA:CW was, no doubt, commercially a flop, it is, in fact, highly regarded by a great deal many of those that played the game, including the reviewers who awarded it such high scores.
Correction: They'll have a downloadable version of it for PSP. Sony is wording their press releases in such as way as to make it seem that downloadable content (including full games) are only going to be for the PSPgo model of the PSP platform...and that's complete bull****. All PSP systems, from the original right through to the Go will be able to play the games. Sony just words it that way so people will think the Go the only capable SKU, and therefore unwittingly buy the much pricier model hardware. I agree. And I guarantee that Sony put some money under the table for Rockstar in order to ensure that Rockstar didn't even think about porting the game over to the iTouch/Phone platform. Sony is buying into the idea that it is directly competing with Apple.
