Didn't find any threads on this... And sorry if this is in the wrong section, but... :p

Have you guys ever wondered why apps aren't priced at $1.49 or $.49?
They have $1.29 songs... so why not apps? It'll just give that many more options for pricing and sales, etc.

So what's your opinion, should apps have half dollar capabilities?

As for $0.49 there is really no way to make a profit at that price point and as for $1.49 and so on. I just don't think people need to be that meticulous in their pricing.

Eh, I agree about the $.49 app, but for $1.49, etc., I think it would allow for more niches than just the $10, $1, $3, and $5.

    BTW, love your sig. :D

Yeah, sure. While we're at it, let's add in single cent increments. That way, devs can be more flexible with their sales and put in effect 43.78% discounts.

That would be a horrible idea. After Apple gets their 30%, which is about 15 cents, the developer only makes about 34 cents per buy, which is not enough to entice developers to make games for this platform. One dollar, two dollars, three dollars, even ten dollars is sometimes ridiculously cheap, but 50 cent games is hard to comprehend. The developer would have to sell almost 3,000 units to make 1,000 dollars, which would be suicide for anybody with an actual budget for their games.

HELL NO!!! I would say in-app purchases be half priced like 49c, but not a full app.

Exactly. Do you really want to see crappy $0.49 games?

I dont see a real point in this. Those who cant pay 99cents for an app wont pay even 5 cents for it, let alone 49 cents.

At first I thought this was a ridiculous idea, and that $.99 was low enough. But the whole $.50 thing might not be as bad as we all think after all and here's why... there are a ton(and I mean a ton) of $.99 apps in the store competing with eachother, almost every buyer has to pick and choose leaving many of them out, leaving many developers with $0. Some of these $.99 apps arent selling but a few copies a day if lucky. The $.50 thing would help them out in the long run. $.50 here and there is better than $0.

And I think that songs in the store should be $.50 not a dollar each.
