My 3gs home button is almost dead...Apple can repair it for about 200$(CAN) Should I fix it or upgrade for a iphone4? I read lot of bad thing on the web about the iphone4 so I am not sure what to do. What would you do? If you re a iphone4 user are happy with the device? Thank's
Get the iP4. It works absolutely fine, better than the 3GS for sure. The Home button alone on it is super clicky and feels awesome.
iPhone 4 I love my iPhone 4, it has it's issues sometimes but it is a fantastic device, I just got the tomtom GPS app and the phone acquires the satellites very quick. My wife spends most of her time playing free cell. lol. Great iDevice I would buy again.
I upgraded from a 3GS, so I can definately say it's a pretty good upgrade, I've tried doing the antenna trick on mine, but the most it did was move the signal down one bar; although I don't worry about it anymore because I have a case. The retina display is really crisp compared to the 3GS screen, and some of the games like archetype and others look really nice when optimized for it. I've tried out FaceTime too, which is pretty cool. If you can afford getting one, I would definately go for it.
Honestly, it makes me a little sick when people complain about the iPhone 4's reception issue. I understand that people feel cheated after just spending all $200 on a phone to find that it occasionally looses reception. Frankly, people who say this come off as greedy. One of my friends returned his iPhone 4 because of this. He was going to buy a case anyways (which would fix the problem), but was too much of a smartass about the whole subject. I can't wait until this whole thing blows over and Apple can start working on serious matters, like iPhone 5. The iPhone 4 is the greatest phone on the planet.
I guess I've been spoiled by phones that work. I've gotta stop assuming the things I buy are going to work as advertised.
Really man? Get over yourself. You fit in exactly into the category of greedy kids who can't stand to see 2 bars missing from their phone. Don't be such a pessimist in life man, it won't get you anywhere. If you have 8,000 comments on this iPhone devoted site, you should have some sort of loyalty to Apple.
I live in a city with towers everywhere near me and excellent 3G coverage and no dropped calls *EVER*! I cannot reproduce the "death grip" to drop signal. It always stays at 5 bars.
All i get at work is 2 bars, when i put my finger on the lower left corner i get no signal at all. Don't act like its nothing. The problem exists even if it doesn't affect anyone. Personally I hold it differently but i can replicate the issue with 3 different iPhone 4's. At my house it's no big deal i get 5 bars so i lose 2. At work where 2 is all i get, its a HUGE deal . Just today i was having a conversation on and i accidentally touched the lower left corner and i lost my call.
How exactly is he 'greedy' for wanting a phone to carry out the function it was primarily designed to do? It's like getting a car that 'occasionally' slows down for no reason while driving. And no, he shouldn't remain 'loyal' to Apple, so he can remain neutral in debates, which is better. Also, lol@Midian being called a fanboy.
