I (stupidly) left my headphones in my pocket, and they went into the washing machine and dryer. They still work fine (tested them in my MacBook). Are there any dangers in putting them in my iPod Touch (I'm paranoid about wrecking my electronics )?

I do that a lot. There isn't any risk in continuing to use them. Your logic is odd though. You tested them on your $1000+ Macbook rather than your $229-$400 iPod?

Possibly. I would rather try on my iPod first though. Plus, headphones don't SEND electricity, so there isn't any risk as long as they're dry. :)

My iPod went into the washer and survived. Pretty sure the headphones are alright ;)

I would be more woried about electrocuting myself. Just make sure they are completely dry first.

Yeah, you can literally wash your computer if you want (at least the motherboard, and cards, not sure about harddrives), just gotta let it dry for....well, engineers do three days. So the same would go for ipod.

True. As long as the battery doesn't go with it. The hard drive would be broken if you washed it, SSDs would live.

I would never do it though, since there are things that can go wrong, but ideally, it would live.

Don't worry bro, my apple earphones have gone through the wash cycle approximately 8 times (as of yesterday... I just discovered them in my back pocket since I thought they were lost ). They still work fine! :D

The entire damn cycle. Then it was hung with my shorts to dry 'til they were only mildly damp. Battery drained completely, but after like a week of just letting it sit and dry off, it came back to life. My Dare, not so much. Apple > LG.

And I don't see how headphones would damage a computer/ipod. Wouldn't it be the other way around? Water conducting electricity frying a circuit or somethin'?

As long as the headphones dont conduct electricity cause it has not battery or power source headphones just transfer things (music, audio) so it has no battery juice in it. Now if its did and it was turned on it would fry (which you cant lol). You could put your ipod in water when the battery is off/drained and it wont fry cause there's nothing conducting power. If it was on and stuck it water it would you know......(its a sad moment). Also its not recommended though....

... no, I meant the energy form the ipod/computer reaching the headphones and frying them.
