Alright, so my old Apple earbuds are starting to fall apart, the audio jack is bent in two places, a silicon tip is missing, one of the buttons on the remote doesn't work. Am looking to get a new pair soon..anyone know any headphones that:
-have good bass (as heavy as you can :);))
    -are in-ear buds
    -preferably $50-60

    Thanks!

    Get SkullCandy.

  3. If you can pony up the money and maybe even find a good price on a pair on eBay, definitely think about getting the Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 or 10vi. They're triple-driver canalphones and sound excellent; EQed for a wide dynamic range with a clear, bright soundstage and respectable isolation of about 25-30dB. The silicon tips are pretty good, too -- first ones I've ever been able to wear comfortably, as normally I need foam tips.

The only difference between the 10 and 10vi is that the 10vi have an iPhone button that works just like the Shuffle. (single-click to play/pause, double for next track, triple for previous, click+hold to activate voice function (iPhone only), double+hold for seek forward and triple+hold for seek backward). However, if you can get a good deal on the 10s, you can buy the 10vi cable separately and swap them with the 10 cable. (The Triple.Fi's actual phones can be unplugged from the cable for easy replacement.)

They're at least double the price range you're looking for (I paid $190 for the 10vi set, but if you can get the 10s for $100-120 or so you can get the vi cable for $30 straight from Ultimate Ears) but worth every penny and perform at least as well as the $500 Shure SE530s, and way better than the horribly flat SE420s.

Otherwise, if you want a really cost-effective solution with no extra frills, get the JVC Marshmallows. You can get 'em for $10-25 (Amazon has 'em for $11), and I'm not kidding when I say that for the price, they blew me away. Awesome buy, especially if you're a basshead like me. One size of foam tips only though, no silicon, but the foam is semi-firm, fit well, and can be cleaned as they're coated, so if you take care of 'em you probably won't need replacements.

Get one with a nylon cord or some smooth material for the cord. My headphones are really good, but they have this shitty, sticky cord that makes the ear buds pop out of my ear every time I turn my head fast, since it's stuck on my clothing.

Alrite everyone I need a headphone recommendation too! Willing to pay 300-400 dollars for a couple of new ones but not in ear. Also Noise Cancellation would be a extra plus too! Don't hold back on me alrite ;)

Don't get in-ear headphones. They look cool but are much lower quality. Sony has some nice ones for $25-50. High quality too.

SkullCandy blows hard. I spent $30 and the audio seemed muffled for some reason. You can find much better earbuds for the same price.

Blahhhhh, go to any audiophile forum and the two biggest things that are bashed are Bose products and Beats by Dr. Dre. Hold on, I'll look up some headphones that I can recommend. I was hoping you were into rock because I know the perfect headphones for you in that price range but I'll still see what else I can recommend.

Anybody here have Sennheiser PX200s? I'm planning on getting these; my friend has them and I like the look and sound.

    I recommend Sennheiser products. :)

I had the PXs (forgot the exact model), but those appear to be a newer model. I picked 'em up on a super sale at Sears once for $15 bucks.. Great deal. The Germans make good headphones.

I had a pair of headphones by Sennhesier, they were fantastic. The small, black, collapsible ones. They got stolen, and I decided to op with more portable earbuds later on, but they were amazing while they lasted, and would've kept using them had they not been separated from their rightful owner.

  16. I'm assuming you haven't tried any in the last 5 years... I use nothing but IEMs on the go and have gone through a few varieties, and I can attest they are of superb quality if you get a decent pair. Sure, for at-home listening I prefer my Sennheiser over-the-ears, but then I've got a much better sound system at home to take advantage of the larger, higher impedance drivers. When I'm out and about however, IEMs provide hands down the best isolation (none of that noise cancellation crap) and even a half decent pair from the right brand (Sennheiser, Ultimate Ears, Shure (310s or 530s, 420s suck ass), Klipsch, even Bose is pretty decent despite becoming consumer whores) sound light years better than ordinary buds.

Most of the Skull Candy models are crap though.

I don't think they'd fit your "taste" very well. I've heard they're directed more towards classical music, as are Boses, but seeing as I haven't tried them.. I can't really help you out. Also, considering you're contemplating spending $300-400 on headphones, you're going to need an amp if you were considering driving them simply from an iPod. iPods can't drive good headphones, so you'll need to spend at least $100 bucks on a headphone amp. Just lettin ya know.
