I'm just wondering if anyone else has these issues and if there are any solutions. (Auto Sync turned off)

    1. When I connect my phone to my computer ITunes goes into a really long freeze mode (2-3 minutes).
    2. If I click to manage applications on the phone it is very slow and freezes as well (4-5 minutes).
    3. I'm trying to manage my apps and at times the scroll bar gets a mind of its own and scrolls up or down page by page like I'm holding down the paging keys but no key is pressed. It then usually totally freezes and requires me to force a close.
    4. When telling it to transfer my purchases from my phone to computer, it finished, but phone was stuck in sync mode for well over a half hour. I finally cancelled it and everything transfered. When trying to verify, I told ITunes to sync again and it never even contacted the phone, it just froze.

I'm on a Windows Vista box and I have the latest version of ITunes (9.0.3) and IPhone firmware (3.1.3).

    Thanks for any help.

It's a computer issue. Either get a new computer(preferably a mac because macs provide optimal use of iTunes) or atleast upgrade to windows 7. Good luck

ITunes is the only program malfunctioning and it is a computer issue? Huh.

    That's just how iTunes is.

Happened on my Vista, too. It's Apple's way of dissing the Windows users.

Are there any tools to manage apps without ITunes? I've downloaded the ITunes COM SDK for Windows, but it appears to only handle music. I haven't written any code yet, but what I'm seeing doesn't look promising for the apps. :(

You still got Vista or have you got Win7. If so, how is it on it? Or is it just the "Windows" thing LOL

lol, I switched to a Mac about 6 months back or so. But I had this problem with XP, too. XP, two different versions of Vista. I tried it out on Window's 7, though. It's fast, but it's not OSX fast. It's optimized for Macs, I'm guessing, which makes sense. It blows so much, though.

Well, I decided to post a followup to this since I can't be the only one having issues and hopefully my experience can save someone the frustration I have had.

First, DO NOT USE THE SCROLL INTERFACE TO THE LEFT on the device app screen. It is severely buggy. It has the following issues:

    1. Scrolling by pages can lead to a scroll loop to occur where it just automatically goes page by page until it crashes. This happened several times to me over several days.
    2. If you just select an app and use the space bar/arrow keys, this works for a while but can lead to random crash/lockups where you cannot proceed further down and ITunes pegs the CPU. This happened twice to me. :(

So let me just state it again, AVOID THE LEFT SIDE SCROLL INTERFACE LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Second, The RIGHT SIDE is the side you want to use. The only problem I found is that the X to remove apps didn't appear always. You can delete an entire page by moving over the top left app's X and just start clicking. When the X is missing you will have to click or move the mouse to get it to appear then click again to remove. Be careful, cus eventually the X's will start appearing without the initial click so don't go crazy and remove stuff you don't want to.

Apple needs to get their act together and fix their program cus for a company that prides itself on innovation, their program sucks. Or hey, how about adding apps to the COM interface so indie developers can write app management apps that work.

I'll get off my soapbox now and Good Luck.
