for mac, sync then disconnect your ipod. make sure you delete any copy of GTA already inside of itunes (first delete from "mobile applications" folder, then from itunes "applications" listing. use stuffit expander to extract the contents of GTA.ipa. inside the .ipa file is one artwork file and a folder called "Payload". Look inside the payload folder, you will find a file "RslP1". take the RslP1 file out of the folder, drag it to your desktop, and then drag it onto the itunes icon (or drag it into itunes). itunes will then process the file. after processing is finished, look to see if GTA is now included in the applications. sync your ipod. play.

If it's compatible with 3.1.0, it's definitely compatible with 3.1.3. No worries there. :)

    Select "transfer purchases" in iTunes.

Yes, it apparently uses the microphone for some features, like the DS version. But you have a 2nd gen, so why is that a problem?

As for the transfer taking ages, that's why so're supposed to sync regularly. :p Once you've transferred purchases once it should do it automatically from now on.

That's strange. You shouldn't even need to use this method, it's only necessary for 1st gen devices. Your 2nd gen should be fine.

    Doing nothing of importance.
    Somewhere
If you have a 2g you can download it straight from the store. Then, if you go onto iTunes, it'll download GTA from your 2G to your computer, so no long download process necessary. Then you can follow the steps on the first post and get it on your 1G.

Andyou have a 2G. If it has the curved back and volume buttons on the side, it's a 2g. No iPod comes with a mic, you have to buy an external one. Also, it's not really necessary since when it was used in the DS version, it was to hail a taxi, which you do in the iPhone/iPod version by touching the top of the screen.
