Oooooh.... I didnt even realize you are attacking the tower directly. Yeah, those dont have armor. I was referring to walls. Maybe they should just make it so it is invulnerable until a wall has been destroyed.
The solution is to not make the range blast go through the wall at all. Also, I stumbled on a bug. I equipped another hero's weapon and then it said that all heroes must have weapons equipped (as always). But then my screen didn't go to the hero that needs the weapon equipped (as it always does), it instead styed on the same hero. So I couldn't go to the other hero to equip a weapon and it wouldn't let me exit to the menu either. Had to restart the game.
^Ahahaha it works with a spear too since the spear has more range, enough to reach the tower from outside the wall.
How the heck? That is ridiculous. Some of these game breaks are pretty funny, it makes you realize how much data, formulas, etc, that the four bros are having to balance, plus working on new games, updates, etc. I do not envy,
Right. Makes for a really quick victory even with other races. At least it doesn't work in the mutlitplayer versus mode, since the tower is positioned far enough away from the side wall.
Damn I really want a way to delete a character now. The fact that I have 4 elves, 3 humans, and only 2 dwarves make me uneasy. I'm not a racist.
Shiznit... The problem with a low level dwarven gunner is i get 2 or 3-shotted by either snipers or the wraiths. Wraiths are easy to avoid, but sometimes one can sneak up a hit on you while stringing snipers in one side of the map. Over 12 times of replaying w35 with a now-lv30 gunner. I have levelled up 3 times on failed attempt in w35 alone. LOL. I dont want to level up too much coz i just want to play it without power levelling. I dont even have legendaries for my gunner except for a +100 command point starting rune with +25 armor. Dont need damage coz i can still one-shot both sniper types with my epic +68 damage rifle. Sllowly building up to 4 bannermen is essential. My problem is getting greedy and getting killed. Havent lost to getting overrun since i can clear the area of enemies always. Those insta-spawn, insta-shooting snipers are the biggest problems. You basically dont even know which snipers hit you.
This needs a fix if you ask me. They should spawn on a cooldown. It's also annyoing when you spawn in a siege mission and get instantly shot by a dozen of those snipers that are on the wall if you don't pay attention for 1 second after you spawn there. Also, each enemy units should have their own cooldown/shoot rythm. They all start shooting at the same time and it's pretty lame that you can just run up to the wall and block all wall archers with one shield block, because they are all shooting and reloading at the same time.
HA! Completed all 35 waves with a pure gunner spec'd dwarf! Since i always die to instaspawning and shooting snipers when the wraith lord shows up, what i did was stayed inside the walls, going out to take out a wraith or some snipers, then going back in. The main reason i lose here is zero HP, so i had no choice but to turtle. So yeah, completed Waves 31-35 with a level 26-30 All-Engineer spec with average equips. Made good use of counter-summons and strategic summoning (timing and summon counting). From this, i am confident in saying that ANY class can complete waves 31-35 before they hit level 30. It's definitely difficult. Even if you have the right strategy, you have to execute it flawlessly too. Now time to play PURE MAGE with a fresh, new character
Well I mean if foursaken increased the cap to twelve having all fours wouldn't be too bad yeah? Actually that'd be awesome.
Just started my 3rd human character, this time, going a full Mage build for the first 40 levels. @Foursaken: saw one that need to be tweaked. Unstable Magic conflicts with Ice Shards. Unstable Magic knocks all enemies back before Ice Shards can stun them. Only way to use them together is when you knockthem back into a wall where They are still within Ice Shards radius. Was this intentional? Coz im thinking it might be possible coz these 2 deal a decent amount of damage especially if they stack on top of each other. On the downside, this makes Ice Shards a useless skill coz of how Unstable Magic is zero-cost on its own and delivers the same "get-off-me" utility despite the lower damage. With this only been or at least very rarely brought up here means no one has delved deep into the mage tree i guess.
So the bestiary on the wiki is now completely useless (the part we had finished anyway), since all enemy unit stats got changed in the update. The problem is that I can now only see all units as level 5, so I can't get stats for level 1/2/3/4 anymore... If someone could provide me enemy unit stats from any other level than 5, that'd be great.
It probably doesn't matter that much because upgrades are very cheap and everyone wants to get to level 5.
For my human character using only the mage tree, i went with a repeater. Gunning is safer than melee staves, and the ranged ones are outclassed by guns more so because i didnt get the +staff damage skill. I wanted to focus more on casting Ice Shards. AOE 200 damage with 8 second stun is actually pretty strong. Mana skills are more important, and the funny thing is i went with the regen and +mana and the one that reduces mana cost the lower your armor. I spent zero points on Arcane Magic, but i never have to cast Ice Shards more than a couple times each enemy set. I always have enough mana to keep casting Ice Shards on the right times. Repeater works naturally with mana regen coz you are just standing still while rapid firing the weapon. So far i just completed wave23 and everything before that, and gunmage is pretty solid. Actually A LOT easier than a dwarf gunner because the Dwarf Gunner lacks utility like Ice Shards. I didnt get fireball or that lightning thing coz they are unreliable damage. Lightning is strong, IF IT HITS. I'd rather spend mana casting Ice shards to deal some damage and stun for 8s, big enough time for my units to clean up. What i want to see is to improve the +staff damage skill to help scale the spells up a little. +1% mage Spell damage when equipped with a staff sounds decent and abalanced scaling enough that it will provide +10% spell damage at max, and therefore make Staves actually useful for mages. Else, other weapon classes are just better than staves IMO.
Thanks for this! I tried a couple Mage builds and just got destroyed all the time. Even with a legendary ranged staff. I will try the gun method and skip the fire and lightning spells. Do you use time warp or the black hole spell?
