I'm forging runes atm and fixing the legendary stats, because they don't scale as predictable as lesser ones. I can pretty much guarantee most of the lesser ones are correct though.
You mean coop games or single player endless? Also, you might (or might not ) be surprised at the multiplayer numbers for iOS games... people on mobile just typically don't play real time multiplayer (which is why I think I have yet to see a MOBA succeed on iOS, despite some great ones like Vain Glory and Fates Forever). Of course issues such as lag or bugs will further hinder mp numbers, but the interesting thing is that only around 1-5% of players even play a single multiplayer match at all, meaning 95%+ don't even attempt to play a multiplayer game in the first place. We're still working on mp balance and bugs though. We have some ideas for versus matches as well that should make things more interesting and balanced. Still in testing, but its looking like we'll be introducing a War Bannerman, which reduces the damage of the enemy hero against your units (PvP only unit of course) while alive. This should make units more competitive, especially against high level opponents (instead of your whole army getting one-shotted).
Ok so here's the deal. The update went into review 14 days after being submitted (which is WELL over the average time of 8-9 days, currently). As if that wasn't bad enough, get this... it was rejected for having "WARNING: Not recommended for iPhone 4" in the description. Literally. Needless to say I'm pissed, as not only did the initial review take a super long time, but now we're sent to the back of the queue for the most nonsensical rejection I've ever seen in my life. But have no fear... because this is to a point that is so ridiculous I can't even believe it, we're going to resubmit everything we have right now as one update, which includes new campaign waves as well. We're going to try to expedite this update through, so if all goes to plan (expedited reviews aren't guaranteed), we can hope for a few days, maybe even 1-2 days. If they don't allow it, then we're screwed and it'll be another week and a half. I'll keep you all posted... Just know I'm as frustrated as anyone (actually, a lot more) about this situation.
thanks for the update! There's not much more you can do than keep us in the loop and fight the good fight, so thank you for that, and my sympathies for the damage the process has done to your game :/ that rejection is just HORRIBLE. it's so nonsensical, since all that does is encourage you to hide the truth of the situation from your customers. there's a lot of games out there that don't play well on older devices, and apparently Apple is flat-out telling you to hide that fact from consumers. Distressing, to say the least. Not the least bit surprising, but distressing nonetheless. edit: this is making me angrier the longer i think about it. i JUST joked about them wasting time on stuff like this instead of stopping scam games from wheedling money out of people, and here they are again, with a policy that i can't fathom existing for any other reason than "it might hurt sales." UGH!
Im not even upset about the delays. They really do have a crappy review system, and i think we know it's always been a hit or miss. Im just glad we have a great game in our hands, and we have a great update coming, so that more of our ip5ers can pick the game up and enjoy it as well.
I hope they don't read here, or else somebody there may think it's time for another demonstration of power... That's basically what happened IMO. Coop games, but today I got no error message so far.
Apple rejects apps for putting system requirements?? Lmao. Guess they're desperate to try to scam more sales from unsuspecting customers? Didn't know they'd sink this low. Even if that's REALLY the reason the app was rejected (which I HEAVILY doubt), um... just send an email to the dev and ask them to remove those words from the app description?? Or heck even Apple can do it themselves?? What is this, the 16th century where one incorrectly calculated number on a financial report means redoing everything from scratch? I heavily doubt Apple even has a proper review team, otherwise there's no way they'd greenlight some of the trash being submitted that end up on this forum. I've seen at least a dozen blatant copyright violations or just pure trash alone on this forum.
You might be surprised at how fast one can find an opponent in H&C1 (15 seconds, I have just tried). If you stick with stats, then you will find that a very high percentage (I'd like to know this one) of iOS players just play Clash of Clans or similars. Fortunately, there are developers like you that don't produce casual games following the mainstream. So, for me that statistic means nothing and can be understood as an EXCUSE. Speaking about MOBA's on iOS means speaking about Vain Glory. Top quality game in the genre. If only H&C2 were server sided... Anyway, Apple's really harming this game by denying a vital hotfix. Not everybody will wait for a patch and will uninstall the game due to crashing. Honestly, not only Apple's fault on that...
my favorites are things like Five Nights at Freddy's 4 how do people put up scam games like that that are fairly big sellers for apple? like, just flat out scams of popular series, pretending to be a developer and hoping to sucker people in? or the "sexy" sellers in the app store, offering promises of sexy time for $0.99? some of the stuff that ends up on the app store is, by definition, criminal, and yet you have things like this where good devs get shafted? bah. FM, thanks for putting the two updates together into a single update at this point... sorry it had to happen, and sorry for the rush you probably had to do to make the 2nd update ready before you might have wanted to!
If it's possible I'd like to see slightly changing lighting conditions in Endless games, like in Waves. Just to have a little variation. Of course no fog or night/rain/thunderstorm. I don't think it would affect battle outcome and highscoring if everything is still visible.
Well, I always chocked a lot of things up to Apple doing nothing but shitty things, but this kind of caliber? Oh no, that's just crossing all kinds of lines here. You know, if you guys can, you should definitely try to bring a port to Steam or something... It's a far better service, to be honest.
Not surprised Considering that game is now 2.5 years old and has players from both the free and paid version in the same pool. Trust me, its still a very low % overall playing multiplayer (~3% for HC1). With those stats, I was speaking about our games specifically, but I suspect its low across the board with other real time multiplayer games (which is why I've never seen a pure multiplayer game do well, despite top tier games like Vain Glory and Fates Forever). Clash of Clans, etc are not real time multiplayer mind you, so they're in a different category.
Many of those games, though, are all about your money. In my opinion, people find games like CoC fun because, well, they made their way up there by ridiculous amounts of frivolous spending. I wouldn't consider it a psychological thing, but just more of what people think about. I, for one, despise those types of games, and others (Take Glu Games and Gameloft as the two prime suspects, here) that basically put you through paywalls or force you to grind forever to make another 1% of progress, and then repeat that process over and over again. It's not fun, but unfortunately, that's literally ~85% of the games on the App Store these days.
Delayed patches are usually the thing to kill fanbases. Not everyone checks these forums so they wouldn't know the fault wasn't even on your guys' end, but rather Apple's. Regardless, I'm glad you guys will at least get the opportunity to make a HUGE first impression with your first patch now
You guys are going to launch out with the Free H&C2 soon, right? Will it be "patched up" as well? I think when that hits... the game can definitely explode.
I finally boosted my elf to from level 40 to 99 today, yay. And I need a favor from someone now in order to finish the Bestiary on the wiki page. Now that one of my characters is level 99 all enemy units show up as level 5 for some reason. Anyway, I need screenshots of stats (or just write their stats here) for the following enemy units at level 1: Orc Rider Orc Elite Orc Siege Hammerer Orc Chieftain Troll Siege Troll Giant Spider Wraith Catapult You can also PM me if you don't want to clutter up this thread. Much appreciated. Edit: nevermind, after reseting the game, all enemy units show up as level 1 again. Weird.
Foursaken, I love you, no stress it's clearly not your fault and you guys make gems that stay on my devices for like forever
Updates for new releases should be reviewed with higher priority for many good reasons. Shame on you, Apple ======= I remember one ridiculous deny on an update It was a TCG game where you had to enter an email and password to log in, and if you didn't have an account, it created one itself (no double passport, no "I agree") An Apple employee denied an update becouse he couldn't log in without email. The developer of the game replied to him that he has to use an email and that he can even enter fake one and gave an example (I can't remember. ***@***.com, it doesn't matter) and posted this story on forums, telling us that the update will be delayed. Someone took the email from the example and used it to create a new account with his own password and replied to the thread that he did this. I remember the developer said "NOOOoooooo!!! We are screwed now." And really, after second deny the Apple employee replied that he couldn't log in even with the email they suggested
Man I hope update 2 is stable and not being rushed out to be packaged with 1... Was it ready to ship?
