man this 120 min ipa is amazing? i never thought nay beer that was 22% could be this sweet and amazing. if anyone is into fine beers I HIGHLY suggest it. it's price at about $8 a bottle but it is easy 2 or 3 servings. perfect to be split between 2 people. it's illegal in orgeon to display the ABV on the labels so you see it's not displayed on it, but be warned, it is 22% it will kick you in the ass HARD.
Well I don't see a problem with it, it's not porn, I'm not providing anybody with it, it's simply just the best craft beer I have ever had. If the mods have a problem with it then lock it/ delete it and I'll nece post a similar thread. However if we can post about rated r movies and explicit music then I'm sure this will be fine. This section is to talk about anything non and related within reason. This seems within reason.
why not??? anyway, thanks for the heads up, i'm off to that new fandangled tinternet thingie to search me some out
HAHA!!, I live right next to a TotalWine and Liquor. They're basically like the shangrala of alchohol. Imagine home depot, stacked to the ceiling in booze. I'll def be picking a bottle up tonight!! Thanks for the heads, up. Also here's a personal favorite of mine, it's a sake called "Takasago Ginga Shizuka" or "divine droplets". It is the highest grade sake, and is quite pricey (about $60 a bottle) but it will make a believer out of anyone! One tip, drink it cold or room temp. Enjoy!!
What is wrong with beer? It's not like he posted this in a Pocket God thread. This is the best beer I've had lately. Goose Island Bourbon County Stout- http://www.gooseisland.com/pages/bourbon_county_stout/59.php They're not kidding about it being a great cigar beer. ...Damn you Illinois smoking ban. I don't know if Goose Island beer is hard to get out of the Chicago area or not, but the Matilda is something everyone should try. The gimmick is it uses some secret yeast and I've yet to have another beer that tastes anything like it- http://www.gooseisland.com/pages/matilda/25.php These are both like $15 pints, but worth every penny.
Well to each his own, personally I'm all for ultra bitter! The only beer I really don't like is anything budweiser, stuffs gross. My affordable beer of choice would be heiny, yuengling, and guinness. I also really like La Fin Du Monde!
the goose island beers are amazing I've got a cellar full of them. My personal favortie besides the bcs is the pete jaques. Amazing. The Matilda is nice but not as good as the other two limited runs. 120 is insanely strong. It's sweet and a little bitter. It's something everyone has to try if they like beer. It just makes no sense for a beer this strong to taste like a hoppy sugary sports drink. La fin du monde is an amzing beer it's my drink anytime beer. June 4th I'm leaving for montreal to go to the Montreal biere festival hosted by unibroue the makers of la fin. If you like la fin and would like to try a similar yet different beer try by delirium the tremens Belgium ale. One thing @hodapp the bcs 4 pack bottles is on sale at binnys this week for 17.49. Amazing price.
Also suggesting beers is probably even harder than suggesting games because everyone has diff taste buds however this beer is so diff and tonme atleast enjoyable it should be on everyone bucket list. If you don't like sweet and hoppy beers it isn't for you. If you are open to try new exciting things pick up a bottle and have fun. Goes great with some pretzels.
Yeah I've had delirium, it has the pink elephant on it. Great beer as well. I think it comes in two kinds, tremens, and another one that I can't think of the name...Man I need to leave work now, and get my drink own. I'll take one of each please Edit: just thought of the name it's delirium nocturnum. Good stuff but I like the tremens better.
Oh man, totally buying a couple of those. I've got a couple bottles of Delerium Tremens in my fridge right now. But after having it on tap at a bar around the corner from my house I just really can't drink the bottled stuff anymore. I try to avoid drinking from the Goose brewery too for the same reason, once you've had a beer that was brewed yesterday it's hard to go back to bottles.
yeah I prefer the tremens much more. I dont even keep any of the other on hand. Don't forget the 120 is a sipper not a drinker. It won't let you drink it. It must be sipped. If you want to read more about it and see what people say about it go to beeradvocate.com. I'm going to guess the guy who hated it doesntnlike craft beers. Or thought it was going to be extremely thirst quencing. Or thought it would be extremely bitter. Who knows it can't me for everyone. But it's a solid sweet strong ipa
normally I would agree with you, but the cbs, matilda, and pere jaques will all age perfectly in the bottle. I had a 2 year old bottle of cbs the other night and holy crap it was the smoothest things you have ever tasted. generally if the beer is not dark and high abv% then it wont age well. the only tip just keep the bottles out of the fridge and put them in as you need them. the cold slows down the aging which is the opposite that you want. i'm sure you probably already know this but it may help others besides you. Also i try to buy my beer at room temp that has been in a cooler unless I'm going to drink kit right then. The temp transitions can really mess up a nice beer like cbs.
If you ever find yourself on Vancouver Island (or any of the surrounding islands) you should get yourself a pint of Piper's Pale Ale. It is one of my favorites. Sadly, the brewery is too small to distribute to the mainland.
I'm leaving for Wisconsin to go fly fishing this weekend, and on the way I'm stopping at the New Glarus Brewery in WI, I've never been but I had one beer from there and really liked it. At Dark Lord Day a NG rep gave me a bottle of Spotted Cow Cream Ale, and I've wanted it ever since. The tour is free and for 3.50 you get to sample 3 beers and that includes a tasting glass that you get to keep which is pretty cool. I'm hoping they have the bock and something else exciting to taste besides the spotted cow.
hey i love a good pale ale, by any chance are they at the Montreal Biere Festival this year? http://festivalmondialbiere.qc.ca/pdf/produits_mondial09.pdf thats the list of products and vendors, does it look like that brewery is there? or can I get it in stores or bars in montreal?
