I suppose if you still wanted to get in on the non-paying players, you could make a lite version, say with ads and limited cars/tracks. Just a suggestion. Regardless, I'm buying this as soon as it comes out.
Telling a story from the visuals. Hi everybody, I'm Jesús Fabre, Social Media and PR guy for Aquiris. Since the Vexille and the rest of the devteam is working non-stop on the production side, I'll be coming here to update you in regards of our progresses with the development of Horizon Chase (new teaser here!). One of the most relevant points in our creative process is defining a personality for each circuit. For this, we are playing with colors and contrasts, highlighting the horizon and trying to tell a story only from the game visuals. After winning the Acropolis circuit, in Athens, you are rewarded with three more circuits. There you will be enjoying the gorgeous sunset in Santorini. A set of circuits that has a surprising chromatic scale compared with what the player has previously seen in the game. Enjoy a sky full of different tones of yellow, red and magenta, all coexisting in harmony.
Thanks! We'll be posting a different circuit pic and an interview to a different member of the team each week.
Hi there Jesús, thanks for posting the update. I am really looking forward to the release of Horizon Chase.
Wow this is minimalism and retro combined. Any chance there will be more car varieties like some hatchback? volkswagen gti would be fitting
We saw that playable teaser come out (mental blank on the name but w/e) of the full release. Maybe Apple would agree to you releasing a one or two track demo to give people a taste. This could help build hype. Just a thought! Looks so so awesome.
The game is being conceived with the idea of reaching PC and consoles in more complete versions, and maybe we will add extra content updates after release, so any idea will be welcomed
Thanks a lot Zendorphin! We're putting lots of effort on every little detail in the game. Thanks for your suggestion. Hmmm, that idea of giving an early demo could be interesting to consider. Is that something easy to get/agree with apple? do you know of other games who did it before?
Thank you for the words of support. This week our veteran composer Barry Leitch (Top Gear, Lotus Turbo Challenge, Rush series) sat down with us to go into details on how he made music for videogames in the 80s and early 90s. From ZX81 soundchip to Super Nintendo Entertainment System's SCP-7000. I find worth to mention that Barry has worked on more than 240 game, so has many great stories to tell You can read the story on our blog: http://horizonchase.tumblr.com/post/120613530886/barry-leitch-top-gear-lotus-turbo-challenge
Thanks for the good words, I cannot say anything regarding beta testing for now, but I'll keep you posted here. Today we posted a new screenshot with sunny San Francisco circuit. These weeks we’re full steam into production to finish all the circuits. That means getting all the elements ready and assembled, like backgrounds, car and prop models, special effects animating each scenario, and of course tons of playtesting!
Graphic and animations look really colorful and refreshing , eagerly waiting for this to show up on App Store.
I am absolutely enamoured. Will get this for my iDevices but on the pc as well just for the sake of support to everyone involved in this game
Devteam short interviews - Amilton Diesel (Art Director). Part I Thanks a lot for the good comments guys! This week on our devblog thought it would be nice to give some insights on the technical and artistic aspect of Horizon Chase. We talk about the rain effect and other technical particularities of racing games with our Art Director, Amilton Diesel.
Wow! The rain does look gorgeous! I'm glad to see the devs have been putting a lot of effort into optimization, hopefully this will run super smoothly. Can't wait for it to release, and also hoping for a beta test opportunity!
