Yes, you can download(over and over again) all apps/games listed on your purchase history for free, anywhere(pc/mac/idevice) and anytime.
Sorry, can you give me a step by step process? Do I need to know already what they are? I know I can search for them individually in the App Store and then download them, without paying again. But can I just "download all purchases" without searching for them individually, or something like that?
This took a lot of effort but I started this from Day 1 after getting the iPad (learned my lesson from having tons of apps in the iPhone). Every time I download an app, I crop a snapshot of the icon in iTunes (Command+Shift+4) then sync that in a folder in my iPad's photo app automatically. That way, I have a pseudo Album coverflow in one photo album folder. Another option is I list every app I purchase in Evernote. Yes I know it's somewhat a hassle but I can't think of a better way until our OS 4 arrives late Fall. Pics below from Mac folder and what it looks like in the iPad.
Wow, I guess I'm not the only one who finds this difficult. Thanks for the polite responses; after the first few, "How could you be such an idiot?" responses, I was afraid I was missing something. I sure think it would be helpful and not complicated if there were a way to select an app on my device and pop up the App Store page for that app. And/or a page view I can open on my device that just lists all of the apps on the device. Apple gets a lot of stuff right but there are a few things they leave out. Maybe someone can write an app for keeping track of your apps....
