I redeemed my code and started downloading the game, but when it was processing the file, it locked up my iTunes (it does this a lot when my iPhone is plugged in), and I was a little annoyed, but didn't fret too much. Then I reopen iTunes, it re-authorizes my iPhone, blah blah blah. I check if the app downloaded, and it definitely didn't. I go into the iTunes Store and try to find said game so I can re-download it from there. But it asks me if I'm sure I want to buy it, rather than if I'm sure I want to re-download it. Then I check my Available Downloads and it says I've already downloaded all of my available ones. So what do I do? How do I redownload this app I got from redeeming a code?
I tried that already. What I mean by "processing", is that it downloaded the entire application. I watched the download bar go all the way full, and then it switched to "Processing File", and then it completely froze. I waited a good ten minutes.
It should redownload again for free. As soon as you claim the code, even if the download didn't complete the game is yours to redownload as you please. Try leaving a review for the app, if it lets you then you can defintely redownload it again.
Press buy then it will ask if you want to redownload this app again for free. I've had to do this multiple times.. It will work 100% as long as the code has been redeemed, the app being download or not doesn't matter
I said in the original post that I did try to redownload it. Instead of giving me a prompt telling me I've already downloaded it, it asks me if I'm sure I want to Buy it. I went to the app's page, and I put a star rating on it, and it went through. I checked my Purchase History and it shows up as Free. But I still can't redownload it for free, nor is it available in my downloads. The code redeemed, and the download finished, but when it was processing the file at the very end, that's when it froze, and now it's nowhere to be found, nor can I download it again for free. Taking your advice, Random_Guy, I suppose what I could do is download it off the App Store, get charged for it, and then ask for a refund?
I did notice you said that, except I always get that message. I don't know why, however it always lets me redownload for free. Yours might be different, but I'm sure Apple would refund you if a mistake happened, after all you have proof in your purchase history.
Oh apologies Wow, I'm stupid. I risked it all and pressed "Buy", only to be greeted by that message that I could redownload it for Free. I could have sworn it gave that message at the start, but I guess not Thank you for the help everybody
You're up the creek on that one from what I've seen. A preview item usually won't be listed in a search and I can't find them in Purchased either. The couple times I had it happen I had to wait till it was available in store to get it again. It was still free from the code. YMMV
