How long in submission lately?

Discussion in 'Public Game Developers Forum' started by headcaseGames, Mar 21, 2010.

  1. InstantSupercar v1.1 went into review (finally) at noon today, approved by 3PM. Thank god, those bug fixes are crucial.

Time to start working on 1.2.

Indeed, the review of free versions takes a bit longer. (Well, if 2-3 days is something we should consider long...)

Update to Bombardiers Guild, including OpenFeint (2.4.5) and all their location based scoring stuff:

    March 24, 2010 05:27 Upload Received
    March 24, 2010 05:28 Waiting For Review
    March 26, 2010 11:19 In Review
    March 26, 2010 12:40 Ready for Sale

So, two days waiting for review and 1.5 hours in review.
Not bad. Not bad at all.

My most recent update to Cupcakes! took a little over 6 hours from upload to release. Fastest I've ever seen:

    Uploaded at 10:13am
    In Review at 1:24pm
    Ready for Sale at 4:49pm

    For Sjoelen 1.6:

    March 19, 2010 06:12 Waiting For Review
    March 19, 2010 16:30 In Review
    March 19, 2010 16:51 Ready for Sale

I'm glad, since it was a bug fix release. The previous version took longer. I made a mistake integrating OpenFeint since I wanted to keep 2.0 compatibility, and linked to the maps framework which was still private at the time. That version was rejected.

Great, thanks for the updates everybody. Keep 'em coming.
I am expecting there's gonna be a big shakeup, possibly, right before the iPad launch and a big cooldown (slower approval times) following its release, so I am hopeful we can get an RC submitted sooner rather than later.

Our Full version is nearly wrapped up (still tightening up some OF screws) and a good bit of work to do on the Lite yet (cut out the full stuff, add upsell elements). I feel it's critical to launch both at the same time, so I doubt we will submit anything before the end of the coming weekend.

If you're particularly interested you can follow our progress here, this game is our second release.

It's been about 9 days now since submission, and it's still not been approved. I dunno why the in-app purchase version takes so damn long!

  8. I submitted The Creeps! HD and it was "in review" 3 minutes (!!) later. Three hours later it was approved. This was the day of the "last chance to submit iPad apps for opening day" deadline.

But then, I found a nasty bug in it that I just couldn't leave for people to run into. I thought "Great, now I'm going to the end of the line and I'll miss the grand opening". Oh well, it had to be done.

So I submitted my bug fix. First thing the next morning it was back "in review" and about 6 hours later it was rejected (because "tower defense" was in my key words... which I still think is wrong that someone can trademark an established genre name... but whatever I removed it and emailed support back)... then a couple hours later it was approved again (WHEW!).

So, it seems lightning fast right now (but maybe they are favoring iPad apps in preparation for the iPad launch?).

Warpgate HD went through really fast. Granted it was submitted twice with all the other iPad titles.

Warpgate iPhone however is going on 2 weeks now in Review.

Submitted my new game 36 hours ago. They seem to be working also at weekends, but now due to Easter holidays it might be different.
Still hoping to get it approved this weekend, it's a really beautiful, physics 3D-puzzle game.

All-in-1 Board Games uploaded on Mar 28, 2010, approved for sale on Apr 1, 2010. When I received the notification, I was wondering whether that's an April fool joke, too fast ;-)

    Submitted late last night

We submitted our iPad Spider game last night (Tuesday April 6th, 2010). It's "In Review" and I'll update here when it gets accepted...

Approved ~12PM Friday, April 9th, 2010. So ~2.5 days. I love how fast the approval process is now. Anyway, here's a link to our newest solitaire game, Eric Snider's Spider HD.

I submitted some bug fixes for my iPhone game March 31, 17:42 and it was 'Ready for Sale' yesterday April 07 15:25.

The game has an in-app purchase, so maybe there's a trend there?

We submitted an update to our game two days ago and it was cleared late last night.

Since that was submitted after our free app, can I conclude that free apps have a lower priority than paid, rather than Apple working on the first come first served basis I assumed they used?

    Cheers

Updates and New App Submissions are 2 different teams by the looks of things, updates are quicker than submitting a new app.

Ok thanks for that. Definitely longer than the first submission this time though. Ah well I have patience. :D

New app, submitted on March 28, rejected today (13 days) for a reason which more reads as a joke and could have been changed by us in 5 minutes by changing the server configuration
