So like yeah I was wondering how many of you guys know each other outside of these forums just curious
I wish I could say I knew someone, but I don't I actually was on a forum a couple years ago with a friend, it was pretty cool.
So your going to be coming down to see the nursery!!?? Sweet! No guys it's nothing gay, I apprentice at a Bonsai nursery and Brian and his wife, were thinking of coming down to see the place. You can see pictures here: http://www.wigertsbonsai.com Just go to the gallery. Though a lot of those pictures are old and need to be updated. The tree's look a lot different now.
LoL, I thought that would raise a few eyebrows, yea I showed my wife the website and she sounded super excited, hopefully you can give us a tour of the place!
That's pretty cool! Ever since watching the Karate Kid, I tried to nurture a bonsai tree. At first I thought the crooked ones looked amazing, but my mum said that those weren't healthy as they had to be bent specifically to get to that shape and bent again, the tree must have felt terrible! (Yeah, mum was into that kinda "all things have feelings" ethos.) anyway, the bonsai didn't last long as I don't think I has the right envionment nor maturity to really take care or it. I just wanted to be a baddass martial artist! (Of course, failed at that too!) back to the topic! I haven't met anyone personally as I'm isolated out here in Hong Kong, but I've been keeping in touch with afew via email, and chatting via a social group here (Mature Members of TA). Good fun
I think Schlpurg and GreenLightJerky met during that Galactic Gunner thing is San Francisco... not totally sure though. Maybe they'll jump onto this thread and say something. As for knowing anyone, nah, not really. Wonder what a TA get-together party would be like And yeah, bonsai trees are badass. I'm definitely getting one someday when I can actually take care of it. The Karate Kid and Chuck have inspired me.
Yeah, well this IS the TA forums, so I expected as much Brian, great to hear you and your wife are going to come for a visit!! I'd be more than happy to give you a tour, and show you some of the more extreme tree's
