It has been more in the past, but now it's down to about 15 a month or so. I had this long list of games to get before I got my iPhone, now I've gotten all of them so I only have unreleased games to look out for.
It depends on what is released. Normally 25$. But I have a good advice for you, cranker (as I did to save money): First: delete your Credit Card information from your App Store (or other paying method). Second: estimate what you are able and want to spend a month. Third: go and buy gift cards of that value and redeem them at the beginning of a month. This is your maximum you can spend. It works out very good for me - because with a CC, it is easy to hit "buy" whenever something interesting shows up, But with limited credits, you start getting picky automatically. Meanwhile, I have even some iTunes credits left at the end of a month.
I already thought of that and bought an itunes card but they do not work for apps in Canada.......only music and movies !!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ok with my spending. I should spend about $50-60 / month. I like to try lots of games
Do you have your own canadian App Store and need gift cards especially for that Store? At the German App Store, I can redeem German gift cards only. (This sux a li'l because there are some games which aren't available in Germany and I can't use my CC for the US App Store).
I buy about 1-2 games a month *shocked faces all around* (apart from when I first got my iPhone). I spend ages checking out the game and seeing whether I would enjoy it. I then spend weeks playing that game, and by the end of the month I have completed it, or grown bored. When the next month come I research a new one and so on. When I bought 3 games at once, I found I was constantly switching between them, and not really appreciating any of them. This way I can, and got the most out of my money. Mad
You should be able to stick to $50/month and still be able to keep up with the new releases while having plenty to play. December '09 and January '10 were expensive because of all the big new games. Lots of the people on this forum are kids with allowances who would kill for that kind of pocket money. A few tips for self control (I'm trying these because I'm a lot like you -- I don't spend on much else, but I'm an appwhore) 1. I'd also encourage you to try to finish more of what you have before grabbing new stuff. Chinatown Wars, Ravensword, Rogue Galaxy, Battle for Wesnoth, Doom Classic, Beneath a Steel Sky, and NOVA are excellent games that should take a little while to beat. Words with Friends is the single most time-consuming but addicting game in the store IMHO. 2. Think about making a wishlist rather than just clicking "buy" when something interesting comes along. That way, you're thinking a little bit about what goes on your phone. You can add items to your wishlist in iTunes on your computer, or make an account on appshopper.com -- if you click "want it," they'll alert you of price drops, too. 3. Play with friends. I'm usually the one who buys lots of stuff, but my friends are the types who just get a few things and stick to them. OpenFeint and Plus+ are a good way to keep up with friends in addition to the usual in-person chat. Add me (jindofox) and we can compete. Good luck!
$10 or so, I usually check out what's super popular or productivity/utility apps I could actually use. Since I'm in Sinecure Industries I call my purchases research
when i win an itunes card on twitter or fbook then i spend it all on apps....so like 10-15 bucks a month
How much money to spend is not an issue to me, how much time you can spend on playing is an isuue. Roughly I can finished 3-4 games per month. Usually they're popular one & cost me around 20~30 bucks all together. Try to force yourself to finished one b4 buy a new one, in this way it can reduce purchasing ton of junk 'coz u only wanna play great game not crappy one
This is what I do. One $15 gift card per month. It really makes you look at what your buying to make sure you really want it. I've had very few regrets since I started doing it this way.
I should prob jailbreak sigh. Just purchased 378th paid app. With FF1 and FF2 soon, this months bill will be at 80.
I cant really say but believe me it really adds up i spend about a $100 a month on just apps i added the total since the app store opened ive spent over $2300 i have 1074 apps
