So after trying everything suggested here, I do have a Linksys but I have DD-WRT (custom firmware) loaded and UPnP has always been on. So of course I turned it off then back on, saving in between and such. But what really worked was right after all that I put my iPhone into AIRPLANE mode then turned WIFI on and the UPnP error was gone. And I could host and play games. Of course each game the othe players were just standing in the same spot all at once, I got some great screen shots of it, 3 headed men with 3 guns. Though it does seem that everyone else sees the same thing so on there screen they see me in the 'group orgy' and on my screen I see the other 3 in a hundle. But it has become appearant that when u throw grenades those seem to show on all screens as I could see others throwing gernades and assume they saw me throwing mine. Anyway even without the UPnP error the game play is sucking, hard! If there is a way to add friends add me mtnbiker
Amazing! I did what you did in putting my iphone into Airplane mode and enabling WiFi and now it works like a champ. No problems with everyone standing in the same spot either...
Can anyone confirm Port 51020 as the port MC:S is using!? My custom router firmware interface is showing that port listed twice one as TDP and the other as UDP.
Wish I could get this working. I always have UPNP but my PS3 says it isn't on, and MC:S doesn't work. Would opening the port it uses work, or would it still need UPNP.
Got it from my router login, while connected to MC:S. Screen shot taken from second iPhone: And yes it is still that port even on my second test. side note: finally I can post pics right from my iPhone!!
damn just tried forwarding those ports but still gives me the UPnP error. there must be more ports to open
Just got a response from Gameloft through my Twitter account. This is what they said: "This build of @Modern_Combat multiplayer update is a BETA. We're working on it and a new update will be coming soon."
port forwarding did the trick for me. only issue i have now is the fire button gets stuck and empties out my ammo, not sure if thats network related or not.
I have UPnP enabled, upgraded my firmware, tried airplane mode, but all I get is the UPnP error. Everything works fine(leader board, searching, etc), but anytime I try to join BOOM error. I see someone says they tried port forwarding...what port did you forward?? Someone else said they used DMZ which did not work.
