This is a true f2p game. sobriquet Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2015 1,216 1 38 #4 sobriquet, Aug 17, 2016 Last edited: Aug 17, 2016 JACKPOT!! Finally get to play this and it's awesome. Great AI behavior, they just come right at you and quickly. I couldn't tell from the trailer that the black blobs all over the place are actually spawning pools. I like it, great idea. Can't wait to play this more later. Off to work. Quick edit: thanks etsy8nine and mj132 for posting about the "early" release and creating a thread. Combopunk Member Aug 11, 2016 21 0 0 #5 Combopunk, Aug 17, 2016 Thanks for creating the thread mj132, really cool of you! So, Hyper Blaster is out early on some App Stores! Don't worry if you can't see it just yet, as it's just propagating out to the different international stores right now - I pulled the trigger a little bit before Thursday to give Apple chance to perform its magic and to make sure that everyone can grab it come the 'official' launch! Not that I'm complaining, I'm over the moon to have the game out there with you all! I'm so happy you guys are enjoying the game! The aim for the game has always been to create a really pure, quick-paced arcade shooter for touch - something that's dead simple to play but is a gratifying skill challenge, and I hope that comes across! Thank you again for supporting the game guys! And to the Touch Arcade staff and everyone in the pre-launch thread, THANK YOU! I hope you get a kick out of the game! mj132 Well-Known Member Oct 2, 2013 354 5 18 United Kingdom #6 mj132, Aug 17, 2016 No problem creating the thread for you it's a great games and a real blast, but had to stop playing because I had to go to work, but I'll be playing it quite a bit tonight. Also paid to remove the ads to show my support for you Hope this really takes off esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #7 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 Dev thanks for responding and you are awesome !! Thanks for fixing that for me ! <3 <3 To try and throw some more support I'm going to buy the game for some family members =] Currently score is 24 TERBO mode With the huge ammo bar haha can't wait to see how high I can get it ! If your a Arcady high score junky like myself do yourself a favor and grab this game ! esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #8 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 Hey Dev another idea not as important as the first one but what if the spawner made some kinda indication when they were about to throw someone out of there. Thus it being little black bubbles that fly out of the top or seeing the enemy slowly come out of the ground, for me I realized standing anywhere NEaR a spawn point could be instant death if one of the fast guys pops out. Then making it a lot of places on the board you can't even be near for this random chance that a tiny guy is the next to fly outta there =] esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #9 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 I do realize you have a bigger box that pops out of the top but maybe with the spawn points constantly bubbling it's hard to even catch it ? This one COULD just be me, let me know what you guys think esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #10 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 36 TERBO mode ! =] how am I doing so far? What are some scores you have seen in TERBO ? I also don't use Twitter, could you ask people to also post scores here ? =D Ps: Sorry I'm posting so much by the way, I work all night later so I have to get everything out now ! Seems like this would benefit from twin stick controls (modified for the dashing) Remote_ Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze May 26, 2011 145 12 18 UK #12 Remote_, Aug 17, 2016 Yup, me. Agreed on the controls. Want to like it but I can barely see anything most of the time. esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #13 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 I mean yes to the thumb thing, but I figured that's unavoidable for this style game, with a thumb stick there would be no way to choose how far to dash around WITH the speed you need to do it. Just my thoughts esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #14 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 To get my scores Iv been not really clicking ON a monster to shoot it but behind him at the very edge of the screen to try and not take up any screen space sobriquet Well-Known Member Patreon Bronze Jul 30, 2015 1,216 1 38 #15 sobriquet, Aug 17, 2016 Yes. I was about to post that. I keep my fingers on the edges of the screen and it doesn't block my view. esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #16 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 New record 69 TERBO mode =]!! (Keep in mind I'm on a 6+ and can't really see the bottom half of play-field lol) Combopunk Member Aug 11, 2016 21 0 0 #17 Combopunk, Aug 17, 2016 Last edited: Aug 18, 2016 I can look at making that more clear, however if you're not close to the spawn point, you don't want to be distracted by it either What I would say is this isn't really a problem in Normal mode, as the enemies are slower. In Turbo mode 1 tip is to keep moving - one tactic to getting high scores is ducking and weaving before blamming a big pack with something like Rockets. You'll also find you start to unlock weapons like the mines which you can put over spawns and defend yourself that way. In future updates it'll be cool to add weapons that give you more tactics around spawns, such as freezing them This! If you're playing on a smaller device remember there's no need to hold it over an enemy. The game was built from the ground up for touch, and the gameplay is designed for tap to move, quickly bouncing accurately between different positions and firing. Having two thumbs on the screen actually takes up more screen space than if you're tapping with a single finger like you do in Hyper Blaster, but I understand some players will default to wanting to play "twin stick style" because they're used to playing old school ports and games with virtual controls. I honestly think you'll get on just fine once you adapt to the full touch controls! If you're holding the phone as if to play with two thumbs my tip would be to try holding your device with one hand and just using a single index finger of the other to control the game There are also some neat tricks you can do with the controls: Try buffering a shot input whilst moving to fire as soon as you get there, or try using a second finger to quickly shoot in a second direction! Combopunk Member Aug 11, 2016 21 0 0 #18 Combopunk, Aug 17, 2016 GamingWithNick has posted a great video showing gameplay footage! Can anyone top that today? esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #19 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 Yea you have to keep in mind my probably playing differently on my 6+ just because that screen issue so I'm trying not to hop around so much so you have to take everything I say with a grain of salt. I'm sure I will see and play a lot of things differently when that weapon bad is somewhat out of the way Some kind of freeze weapon to freeze spawns for a while seems like a awesome addition or a like weapon that's one time use that can put up a wall that way you can use it to block enemies off or try and create a funnel for them ? Just ideas ! I love this game =] esty8nine Well-Known Member Dec 21, 2013 1,044 0 0 #20 esty8nine, Aug 17, 2016 Is there a way to make the shooting EVEN more responsive like maybe a sensitivity bar ? Like I want it to shoot even faster, like even holding it a millisecond to shoot for turbo mode, sometimes I have to decide whether it's going to even shoot in time before a little guy catches me, I can get used to it as is as well, just more thoughts =] (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
