Once again - including DSiWare games not available to 95% of DS owners is laughable, and Rhythm Heaven is a 2008 game.
what I was saying, in reply to the original question, is, if the iDevices were only able to play games, like DSs and PSPs, would you have one, the answer for me is no, so in my opinion the games on my iTouch aren't as good as the games on my DS. You didn't seem to completely understand my post, of course, if it had the functions of a brick, obviously i wouldn't have bought it. Yes, but the original post was asking whether you think that iPod Touch games had surpassed PSP and DS games, not a hypothetical situation of what the games would be like. What about the "funnest iPod ever" ads? Have you read the first lines of the first post.
The 2 DSi games are Art Style and Mighty Flip Champs. There will be 2 more good DS games released this year. Everyone has different preferences and standards but using the average ratings of gamesites. 2009 will be equal to 2008.
Oops missed that one. ok so 3 more games this year.. what is the point you are trying to make because it is not quality of games.. is it the type of games?
So, after reading this whole thread, I just felt like screaming at the top of my lungs, "I DON'T CARE!". You know why? Because I picked the iPod Touch as my portable gaming device and I picked it not because the games are PSP or DS quality but because the games are fun and sold at an affordable price while still getting close to the same quality. I really laughed at something somebody on here said, something about "serious gaming", because he's right, gaming isn't supposed to be a serious affair, it's supposed to be about having fun, I mean I have a full time career that keeps me plenty busy, I don't want to be a "serious" gamer, I want to play games as a stress reliever or for reasons like that. For example, I love soccer, I watch a lot of MLS (Major League Soccer), people are always telling me it's a rubbish league and it's not worth supporting blah blah blah. But, I really don't care, I like it because it's my own, I can go to games, support it and whatnot, I don't care that the quality isn't as good as the European leagues or not even the best league in the region, I like it for its potential and just because I can feel it. But my point is, that it doesn't have to be the best console, as long as you like it, it's all good.
Mario & Luigi, Legend of Zelda, Scribblenauts, Kingdom Hearts, Call of Duty, Need for Speed, LEGO Rockband, and other games are still coming out on the DS by the end of the year. And Fire Emblem, Pokemon Platinum, Puzzlequest, Grand Theft Auto, Guitar Hero, and others have already been released this year. (I didn't put DSiWare on the list, but theres good games to be found there too). Looking at those games, I would say this is a good year for the DS.
It's quality and range. Obviously if you pick the best few they'll have similar scores but that proves nothing. The point is the depth of catalogue. Last year properly stellar DS games covered the entire gamut of genres. In no particular order: Chrono Trigger Disgaea DS Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Harvest Moon: Island Of Happiness The World Ends With You Izuna - Unemployed Ninja 2 Ketsui Death Label Trackmania Race Driver: GRID Guitar Hero: On Tour Syberia Flower, Sun And Rain Ace Attorney Professor Layton Civilisation Revolution Sim City: Creator Trauma Center: Under The Knife 2 Ninjatown Duck Amuck Geometry Wars: Galaxies Bangai-O Spirits Metal Slug 7 Looney Tunes Cartoon Conductor Pic Pic Loopop Cube - Loop Salad Advance Wars - Days Of Ruin Castlevania - Order Of Ecclesia Exit DS Space Invaders Extreme Contra 4 Commando - Steel Disaster The Incredible Hulk Rhythm Tengoku Gold Pipe Mania Subbuteo World Series Of Poker 2008 - Battle For The Bracelets Scotland Yard Show me a list of 2009 games covering even HALF of that ground even half as well and you might have a case.

I'm sure I'm overlooking some other games too. Source: http://www.gamingbits.com/content/view/5282/2/
I saw one DSi ware game in the second list - at least as US listings - I don't know what is offered for DSi ware outside the US. Ok so that brings up another point. If with the release of the DSi there is a whole new avenue of games to purchase why can't they be counted? Dr Mario is one of the more popular games that Nintendo has released on every platform and has been fun for me on every platform - doesn't that count as a potential game for the DS? Even if it IS the DSi? And for the record, in regards to my earlier post, you have a funny way of agreeing with people.
Here here! Include the second Professor Layton (finally) as well as some of the others that have been listed and its been a great year for the DS/DSi. Why are we having to list our all these other games again?
Hoo boy. If you're going to just cut-and-paste something, at least look what you're doing. Half of that list actually came out in 2008, as has already been noted TWICE with Rhythm Heaven, for example. Since the DS is a region-free console, nobody gives a damn when it came out in America. And, y'know, the request was for a list of GOOD games covering a wide range of genres. What you've posted is a list of "any old shit that someone released". Hannah Montana The Movie and Dreamer: Babysitter are your idea of a great year for DS games, are they?
Your last 2 posts are funny. The game was only released in JP so 95% of the rest of the world did not buy it until 2009. Nobody in this thread gives a damn that you don't have the DSi. Look at the title it is about the iDevice vs PSP/DS and the Future which includes the DSiWare games.
The name of this thread is: iDevice vs PSP/DS Games: Now and the Future I can argue that you can include DSi in that since many are including the PSPgo. Those devices are evolving which will give them more content. The thread is technically not about DS games ONLY. The original point was the comparison of all handhelds. I think you made it go off track and are constantly knocking anything Nintendo. While I own all of the handhelds I have found myself having to over defend Nintendo because of your cuts. I also think your comment: "Its not complicated" borders on flaming. Not only that its WRONG considering the way this thread started. Please stop and perhaps move your ire to another site that has a DS forum. This is an iPhone / iTouch forum.
This thread went from interesting to downright pathetic. Bottom line is that no, the iPhone is not a platform that offers the same quality found on a Nintendo DS, and in terms of pure gaming, it comes short. It has potential as long as developers keep creating innovative stuff that play to the advantages of the system (Spider), and not try to "recreate" hardcore stuff like a FPS because is simply not going to work (Modern Combat, COD4 rip-off). That's it.
Jesus Christ. Some of you people have serious English comprehension problems. I said the DS was "the console of 2008 by a considerable distance". I absolutely adore my DS. But 2009 has been a desert for good DS games.
Ok. You have made that point a few times. Others disagree deal with it. Time to get back on topic. "iDevice vs PSP/DS Games: Now and the Future"
