saints, where do i tell u my thoughts about the beta, i dont have time to finish the game tonight but i got through most, should i pm or just post it here?
How would the game be even connected to me anymore? If I use the graphics, I would have to be the one programming the game. And the game isn't with a sword, it's with a gun, so I can't use the sprites anyway Unless the character picked up a Helmet and sword. But if I were to use Timo's graphics, it's not a complete set so they would look way too good next to my graphics used in the game, so I'd either need a complete set of his or all my graphics. But I am taking his advice and it really helped
You are a smart man. But try your hardest on sprites. Don't make them crap. Make them the best you have EVER Done.
The better your game looks, the more downloads you'll get, that's just a fact, and I really agree with others that you should take advantage of Timo's artwork here. If you did take his graphics, that doesn't mean you've been pushed out of the project - you're still the Creative Director who is making all the most important decisions about gameplay and overall design. Maybe Timo will be nice and update his sprite with a firearm, and maybe a couple of more enemy sprites too. Heck, maybe he'll even publish it under his company, Mountain Sheep if it ends up a decent game, and that'll give it a huge marketing push. As for the game itself, it looks like you're trying to keep it simple, but it inspires me as an Asteroids gameĀ Running around in a small room picking off oncoming ponies for as long as you can. What would really make the game a lot more fun and addictive, in that case, is to take the other aspect of Asteroids and have the ponies split and multiply into several smaller ponies when fired at, then the smaller ponies multiply into even smaller ponies, until you started with one giant pony and now you've got 8 baby ponies running at you.
You're telling me. Every good pixel artist has played MS Inspiration ahoy: http://www.metalslugsprites.net Can't resist... how badass is this:
