Consider yourself f*cked, and make a character on the 2nd or 3rd character slot. This is how I avoided this from happening again to myself. There seems to be a bug where this happens on the first save slot only. If this does happen again while playing from the other slots (I play on the 3rd myself) after your get through the intro and can bring up the menu, simply open it, and reload from your other saved slot. Sorry man, I got burned too. Hasn't failed me yet though.
Again: Could somebody please explain to me how to use the heavy weapons properly, I skipped the part where they got explained, yeah I know quite stupid Thanks
The only way to send a message to ChAIR and Apple that quality control like this is not acceptable is to request a refund. The entire point of app store approval process is to make sure crashing or buggy apps are not approved and in this case it's very clear this did not happen. Considering this was the biggest iOS gaming release of the year it is even more unacceptable.
Cheers! I couldn't have said it better myself. A great list of games that far exceed this mediocre, but pretty POS: RAGE Mortal Kombat Elders Srolls V: Skyrim Dark Souls Batman Arkham City Gears of War 3 Uncharted 3 Infamous 2 Assassins Creed Revelations Super Mario 3D Land Mario Kart 7 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D Metal Gear Solid HD Collection Resident Evil 4 HD Halo Anniversary Edition Deus Ex: Human Revolution Battlefield 3 Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation Modern Warfare 3 The Bards Tale Shadow Gun Cordy Storm in a Teacup Roboto Scribblenauts Remix Cordy These are just a few of the awesome games on most platforms, mthat are worth way more time and $$ than the "Epic" disappointment, that is Infinity Blade II. The first game was so much better. It just was. It had a loneliness that reminded me of Dark Souls, just a great atmospheric game. The sequel trades in almost every redeeming quality and ****s all over it.
I don't see how this game is mediocre at all, its gameplay is special on this platform, plot is good, graphics are top notch, even the support from chair and epic is good, they listen to us and push out updates within a week. What else do you all expect?
Antialising Can anybody post a pic of infinity blade 2 on its native res, by pressing the standby and home button, I think I'm not getting proper antialiasing, so I would appreciate some help guys, are you guys getting good antialising on your iPad 2?
Well duh, comparing an iOS game to console games story-wise (65% of those were console games...) is like comparing a pencil to a pen. Sure they can both write out a story, but iOS games (the pencil) are typically easy to erase from your brain. The stories aren't very deep, or meaningful, or has been done several times before with slight mediocre twists. Console games (the pen) typically have a great overarching story, and the better ones usually come with books, which makes the lore and story of everything that much deeper, that much easier to become involved and engaged in the story, or the trials the character is going through. The Infinity Blade series is the first time I've been more excited about the story, than the gameplay itself. The game play is fantastic, and very perfect for the touch controls themselves. The slight RPG and upgrade system is enough to keep me coming back for more, but discovering things within the game make it SOOO much fun. Like bigger console games with books, this one came with a book (and I know not everyone read it/cared to read it). It shed enough light on the first game enough to explain what I wanted it to explain, and left mystery in what I wanted to find out more of. Little menial and subtle things that you think would have no meaning, are given some kind of life, some kind of back story, as if some kind of piece of a one greater puzzle. THAT is why I like this series so much. Like I said, it's no award winner by the stretch of the imagination, but it IS fun for me, and fun for a lot of people. We WANT to know more, we WANT things to be explained to us, whilst still wrapped in a gorgeous looking box. lol. Those are my .02 though.
I don't understand why touch arcade call ib2 an iOS masterpiece. Ok, nice graphics but average repetitive gameplay, an average game at overall. Masterpieces are innovative games or games that combine good graphics with nice and long storyline. Ib2 has nothing of them.
I agree. This game is a giant step down from the original, 1 step forward, 2 steps back. A disappointment, to me. It's not because of the bells and whistles, for the low price. It's that the gameplay seems broken (blocking and dodging, the terrible slowdown in framerate, save issues, etc.) - I expected better from this game, what you get is a pale shadow of the first installment (factoring in the deathless expansion, too).
I see some people trashing the gameplay hard, here. That makes me think it's just not your kind of game, because I'm having tons of fun with it, and so are a lot of others. Just as an example, I find FPS really boring, but I'm not about to say they're bad games because of it. The plot was handled very poorly for everyone who hasn't read the book, though, I agree. And for those who have, you'll probably agree when I say they should have left TEL in, and also had Isa around for the first Rebirth scene, as it occurred in the book. When you block, you have to block in the direction of the attack. This includes center blocks. I think the tradeoff is that all attacks are blockable (i.e., no Broken Blocks unless you're out of shield points). To combo, you slash twice in the same direction, then swipe along the arrow.
It is all subjective. I found the game to be fantastic! Sure it isn't deep, and can get a bit repetitive, but that didn't bother me. And this is after getting bored with the first one before ever killing the God King. I can say I have had ZERO problems with IB2 on my iPhone 4S. Haven't even lost a saved game. So your mileage may vary.
Anyone else find the invisible Glitch guy before the statue of the dragon? Even though I can defeat him, it keeps sending me to fight him again and again...
I will agree with this, which is why I reference the book so much. While I agree that more of the story should have been explained in the games, picking up the book that takes almost a few hours to read (and is cheap to boot) really brightens things up and tells an actual good story. I do think TEL should have been in it though, as well as like you said, Isa in the first rebirth. Hope a second book comes out, or delves even further in her possible return in future game updates. They updated IB I flawlessly, I don't see this one being any different at all. I dunno... I like the game. Sad to see so many people trash on it, but at least i am having fun.
Haven't seen that glitch, but have you had the glitch where in the courtyard (the place with the angel guy spearing a bird or something), you go right to that place with a treasure chest and the guy that jumps down doesn't go into a battle animation? He's just there, close up, and you're unable to do anything unless you quit? It was sort of odd, but it only happened once.
Okay. F*ck this game until the game save bug is fixed. This is f*cking stupid. No trick has worked, including my own. All my characters are deleted. God damnit. I love the game to death, but I would like to, you know, play it and beat it one of these days. God F*CKING DAMNIT.
Forgot to mention that magic spells gestures are completely messed up. In order to do a heal i have to retry several times. In IB1 i could do it on the first try easily.
