My monster hunter experience is limited to tri but I can say it is similar to and definitely inspired by the series. As has been said, a simplified mobile version, how mh on iOS should have been. Can anyone say about how many unique enemies there are? So far I'm on rate 3 and have seen a lot of repeats already but still having a good time. I do wish the equipment system was deeper. Maybe I haven't gotten far enough but as of yet there's no upgrading equipment, only buying new pieces. And it would me nice if there were some varied weapon styles, melee, rapid firing, etc... maybe in a sequel! Some are more effective on certain Invaders than most. And most importantly, dont be greedy with attacks. Try to learn the Invader's movements and attacks so you will know when to aim and fire your shots. Kind of reminds me a little of Thor, fun game, a little buggy, but a decent 3d action game. Plays real good on my new ipad. The 3d bosses are massive and look really tough. Doesn't have changing screen orientations, so that was kind of irritating cause it has the headphone jack on the bottom which interferes with hand placement, but controls are solid, and gameplay is fun. Overall, well worth a buck! Now with some games like Virtua Tennis, Thor, Asphalt 7 and Invader Hunter, feel like I got an arcade in my hands.
