I play everything on my iPhone, I don't own an iPad. I've played games on both and the iPad overwhelmingly is much better for all gaming than an iPhone/iPod touch is.

When I play awesome games like Shadowgun and GTA 3, I'd rather be playing them on an iPad any day of the week.

MC3 must be pretty epic on an iPad. :D

To each his own. Honestly if the UI works then I'll play it on any device. The only thing is the iPad is a heavy device for extended gaming, iPod not enough juice for extended gaming and iPhone you receive texts and calls while playing.

I don't know if any of the people who say tilting isnt as good as on the iPhone, but I own both iPod and iPad and I can say it is MUCH easier to play tilt games (tilt to live for example) on the iPad.

The smaller the screen, the blinder you go. :D The harder you have to look at it, the more it strains and dulls the muscles in your eye. This is why I voted iPad. Forget electronics if I can't see in order to work them.

Tilt to Live is a very well done iPad game. I enjoy it more on iPad than on iPod myself.

But other tilting games, Soul or Space Tripper or Dark nebula, Tilting just doesn't work for me on iPad.

    Racing games however are fine.

Another problem with virtual buttons on iPad is that they tend to be too spaced out. Or far too low on the screen. On iPad, customizable button layouts is absolutely a must have.

I change my mind a little lol

My ancient non smart phone broke and I desperately needed a new phone. I decided to get a new iPhone 4S 64GB by selling my iPad 2. I love my new iPhone 4S (used to have a 16GB one) but do miss the large screen. I do love the retina display and missed it from my iPhone 4 that I used to have. The AT&T coverage is just as good as Sprint and no dropped calls so far.

So, I say iPad definitely preferred but for those without one right now, the iPhone 4(S) is good too for gaming. Hope the iPhone 5 has a BIGGER screen! Jealous of Galaxy Note android phone owners, since its screen is massive.
