So today I was playing Dungeon hunter a fair amount - got down to 20% and got the battery warning... So, I plugged it in the wall, and continued to play - a while later - maybe 90 minutes or so - I got the 10% warning. So, I checked connections, appeared to be plugged in, and the little charge symbol was on. As I continued to play - yep - it died... Are the iPads so power hungry, or the charges so weak, that is can't keep up with you while you are using it? Never heard of this happening with any devices that use batteries - laptops, iPhones, iTouches, etc... Anyone having this experience, or have suggestions on what to do?
I think I did read somewhere that iPad needs a lil more power than what your old iPod chargers can provide. I'll have recheck that though.
Check the brightness, if it's all the way up it'll die pretty fast and take forever to charge. Just leave it alone charging.
I can definitely see it taking up a lot more energy. It's powering a gigantic screen through a dingy iPod cable.
Thanks for the thoughts. I am using the official iPad charger, and the brightness is actually lower than the default - I don't like bright screens.. Also, on my laptop - it does not make any difference how intensive the graphics are, or what I am doing, or for how long - as long as it is plugged in, it stays on.. Maybe the circuitry of the iPad has the power solely through the battery, rather than most battery / wall plug devices that have a bypass circuit so the wall plug powers the device, and the battery is charged at the same time... Must be some electical engineering reason for that. And yes- iPad takes forever to charge - mine generally about 4 hours... But, I am loving it lasting about 12 hours even with intensive graphics play.
