So the design didn't strike my fancy at first, but after looking at it more, I actually don't mind it. I mean, let's face it, how else was Apple going to change the current design? They ran out of things they could tweak design-wise. The one major thing I don't like is..Well..The buttons on the left side. I don't like the circularness, it'd seem more Apple if they did the unibar look, it looks better too.. Nonetheless, I'm excited because I'll be getting the iPhone 4G to replace my Dare [I decided to hold off on upgrading to the Droid]
The iPhone is so well made, no other cell phone could put up with the drops I've caused my baby... lol iPhone 1gen dropped out of my truck and fell 5 ft and only one little scratch, my 3G has fallen 5-6 times and no scratches or dents on the glass, just scratched plastic. Nokia's would split in half and pop open, samsung flip phones would break in two and dangle by the wires! lol The Razr was pretty tuff too when it was closed, but dropping it with the top open... bye bye moto! I <3 Apple
I want one now, I'm hoping the CMDA iphones are true since I don't want to switch providers. I was going to get a new iPod Touch 4G but this looks a lot more appealing, and it'll replace my iPod Touch AND cellphone...
My problem with it is, it looks like every other touch screen enabled phone out there. If I saw this without knowing anything about it, I never would think, "That's an Apple product!" like I can with everything else they make. You can recognize a current iPhone from a mile away, but this one, it just looks like something I could get from Sprint or T-Mobile.
lol why would I want anyone to know I'm holding an apple product? And besides the face with the giant screen and 1 small home button remains common with all the models and that is the main giveaway. Stop being a sheep, the old iphone curved design is an iSore (lollllll) and the only reason people put up with it is cause it was made by apple. Industrial design all the way for pocket devices.
So they don't think you're holding a cheap knock off, bought shamefully due to poverty that arose because your wife left you, your house was burned to the ground and your boss will only let you keep your job if you let him abuse you from time to time.
First of all, before you categorize me as a sheep, you might want to actually stop making assumptions. I'm not an Apple fan. I only own an iPod Touch because it was a gift. I bought two other ipods prior to this one, simply because I got good deals on them. My opinion is based solely on aesthetics and Apple's penchant for unique design. There is nothing unique about this and you totally missed my point-so nice try, now go troll someone else.
Ditto, I dunno I guess if you dress in rags people might assume the phone in your hand is instantly a knock off..I haven't really experienced this problem so good luck to you. First of all I said clearly the main giveaway that you are holding an apple phone is the large screen with single home button on the bottom. There are plenty of phones with curved back out there. Not trollling, just think you were crying about nothing.
"LOST" I doubt this was lost as the article puts it... It was most likely a controlled leak by Apple to whip up a frenzy and to get people to wait a little longer before getting an HD2 or some other new device... Or it was a stolen unit from apple HQ and that's the reason they remotely bricked it... Thoughts?
That's not necessarily indicative of investors' like or dislike of the device itself. Could be concerns over the leak, the employee who allegedly lost the device, its sale to Giz, Apple's likelihood of getting it back (though John Gruber of Daring Fireball claims that Apple considers it stolen, not lost which, if true, would mean Giz would legally have to give it back to Apple) or possibly the phase of the moon, alignment of the planets, or what colour jock strap Lady Gaga is wearing today. The stock market is a world unto itself and it is not for us mortals to understand its machinations.
Given the rate of theft of Apple mobile devices, is this really a bad thing? Especially when this new phone first comes out? If someone mistakes it for a cheap candybar phone, I'm totally okay with that. My interests lie in using and, more importantly, keeping my iPhone.
I can't really say I've been following how often Apple stuff gets stolen I know it was a problem around London when the very first iPods became popular, people were getting robbed due to having white earphones. It's died down a lot now since nearly everyone has them anyway.
I wasn't "crying" about anything. I was making an observation. There's a difference between the two, and you should probably learn what that is. I have no vested in an iPhone as I won't ever buy one, I prefer my droid much more.
Signs are strongly pointing to the very real possibility that this is the real 4G. If anything, it's kind of hard now to dispute its authenticity given that Giz have torn it down and inspected it inside and out. Which would make the camera Flash that Apple won't include included.
Hmm. Not conclusive -- that could be a placeholder in case it happens, or an unedited template for another smartphone that might have it, and it's two weeks old to boot -- but another peg to help support the mounting evidence for its authenticity anyway.
So a guy from gizmodo happens to be in a bar just where the new iPhone 4th gen get's lost... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Meh, I kinda meant the whole ordeal. Didn't really express it the right way, sorry about that; however, I will not give the illusion that I actually have any real understanding of how it works. I dunno about the Lady Gaga thing, though. I thought it would hinge more on Justin Bieber's color of underwear.
