    Wow, dumbest thread ever.

Do you have any ideas for a game that haven't been done previously? Good luck doing so.

Games are built on the ones that came before them, I'll try to put this into perspective.

Medal of Honor started the shooting genre on xbox, but Call of Duty came along and perfected it.

With iphone, I guess you could look at other fps shooters, and then look at Modern Combat: Sandstorm, it just built on others and perfected them. Hope this makes sense

In fact, considering how videogame has turned, and how gamers carefulness to creativity has been during the last 5 years, you should not ask "which are copies of other games", but "which are not".

  10. What a ridiculous topic. Almost everything is just a rehash/update/mashup/clone of something else these days. There's precious little new under the sun, and it would be far easier to post a productive topic on what games have some originality an innovation about them. Otherwise you could comb the App Store and find 99.5% of every game in there is at the very least based on something that came before it, which would do wonders for everyone's post count in this thread, but would amount to little more than a forum circle jerk.

This is a semantic argument. A "copy" by definition is something that is similar or identical to another thing. If you want to try and argue that a clone (or copy for that matter) doesn't exist you are going to need to sit down and write a more serious rational than saying there are no copies and also that everything is a copy.

Honestly, though, your conflating inspiration and imitation.

The Wars and Ancient Wars are complete clones of the old online flash game Age of Wars. In fact I could not find a single difference between The Wars and Age of Wars. All the units, upgrades, miracles, and defenses were the same, most of the units even had the same cost.

None of the games in your OP are copies. They are the same genre of game so they have similarities, doesn't mean they are copies.

    Real Soccer/X2 Soccer - FIFA
New York Nights - The Sims
NFL 2010 - Madden (I know it doesn't really count because there is Madden on the iDevice but whatever lol)
