Yes I read your whole post and what you stated was that it uses up resources (no actual statement on how many) on the first post i replied too, then you stated that it uses 50% (actually it uses about 65%) then you stated that your arguement is about the iTouch being able to put out better graphics than the PSP and having better hardware. I read your post, and I gave you the reason why the iTouch 2g cant and why the hardware actually isnt the greatest for gaming. But its great for what it does, and the 3Gs is able to beat the PSP, we just have yet to see it happen. That is your argue ment, but it fails. I have already told you why the iPod touch 2g cannot put as much graphical power into games as the PSP can.
My DS lasts pretty long too. Not sure if 24 hours of total gameplay would be it but honestly its about 12+ of gameplay. I have backlight on, sound on or off depending. Even just shutting the DS and having the game pause where you are doesn't take up battery and have gone back to a DS (yes I have a couple) after it was sitting there for 3 days in that mode and can still play. I know that the batteries wear out but you can replace them very inexpensively. So maybe your battery is worn down.
Ipod touch / iphone beat the rest in the long run Hi, I haven't read all the post, but wanted to give you my thoughts. I have the oldest version of iPhone or version 2. My father gave it to me and I've been using it for a long time and it's still my favorite gadget. All my games play well on it and I have access to the largest legal game store at my fingertips. The community loves it - and more important everyone ones one
Oh.. What I meant was at LEAST 50%, which is how much my iPod Touch has free after I use a memory cleaner. I never said that the 2nd gen puts more graphical power into games than the PSP! My argument HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SOFTWARE AND BACKGROUND PROCESSES. All I'm trying to say is that my iPod Touch 2nd gen >>> the PSP 3000 in terms of HARDWARE! Not how it processes game graphics.
That's too bad because all the DS's that I have known (mine, family's, etc) the battery life is what I described. Maybe you got a dud.
Is that an app? Or how do you clean the iTouch memory? When I play Creepytown it always complains at me in the beginning that I don't have enough memory available yet it always plays anyway. I thought doing a hard reset clears any extraneous programs that might be running taking up memory.
You guys are ridiculous. The best iPhone/DS/PSP games aren't the most graphically/technically intensive anyway.
Heck if one game is giving me a warning then there is something going on and it would be worth the money! Thanks for the advice! The thread is finally good for something!
I quoted your arguement, and it was You even stated that that was your arguement. So how does that not have to do with hardware and software. The iTouch 3g has the ability to do better graphics I dont doubt that. But the iTouch 2g does not have the same power going into graphics as the PSP hence graphical power. I dont know how much more clearer I can put that. Now your stating your arguement is Yes it does in terms of hardware. The 128 mb of ram and 533mhz beats the PSP, Im not denying that. I'm just saying that your arguement should be stated more clearer, the fact that you were arguing about someone who stated that the graphical power on the PSP is less than that of an iTouch is stupid. You even put the "NOT" there, That statement is true without the NOT, because the PSP does use more power for graphical output than the iTouch
No no no no. I was saying that that's what my argument is NOT. I'm not saying that it's not true. I'm saying that it's not what I'm talking about or "getting at" in this case.
I use System Activity Monitor, a different app. It gives you a ton of information about memory, CPU usage, active processes, as well as allow you to clear memory at the touch of a button. It's great.
Actually was looking at that one too. Thanks! Seriously amid all this dribble I got SOME good information. That what I come to TA for!
I've seen worse (dribble-wise, I mean). But you are right: ultimately this is a pointless discussion.
Truce.. I guess I understand what you had thought. Since this IS a thread about games, I shouldn't have been talking about hard and not gaming. I got sidetracked, and you, along with most others, were thrown off, assuming that I was on the same topic as this thread. I dunno. I guess I'm just losing it today. But anyway, I do look forward to buying one of the upcoming 3rd gens to be able to handle better graphics than the PSP, or maybe just getting the 3Gs, so I can have a phone and camera (provided the device has a long enough battery for me to do all in one for a longer period of time than the Touch I have now). I don't happen to know how long the battery lasts on a 3Gs. The problem is, there aren't too many games created to take advantage of the new models' graphics power, yet. Since the demographics of people who own the generation iDevices is pretty small for the time being. We'll have to wait a year or so for that to build up, so better looking games will be made, although one year really isn't that long in the gaming industry.
Steve Jobs on the Kindle Here's what Jobs had to say about the Amazon Kindle: Im sure there will always be dedicated devices, and they may have a few advantages in doing just one thing, ... But I think the general-purpose devices will win the day. Because I think people just probably arent willing to pay for a dedicated device. 'nuff said.
It is a meaningless apples vs. oranges debate, but as much as I love the iPhone there are certain games/genres that just will never be as playable without physical sticks/buttons. Every time I fire up PES 2009 on the PSP I feel like an idiot for struggling with RealFootball 2009. Compare the PSP (and even the DS) version of Madden with the iPhone version.
Exactly. I have a PSP and a DS and a GBA Micro. Never carry any of them anymore, now that my phone can play great games. They should ditch those handhelds and release new ones that are also phones. Now, iTouch, not to crazy about that. I wouldn't want one, wouldn't give my kids one. DS is cheaper and more durable and has a better lineup of games for them.
