Wow 2 more! That's awesome, unfortunatley I doubt even that will last long. I think it is time I stop syncing every app and only sync the ones I actually use. Cause I think I have about 5 pages of apps I regret buying.
Yes, it can. You (and I as I'm a 1st gen touch owner too) just won't be able to use the bluetooth stuff as, sadly, no bluetooth in the 1st gen iTouch. Or the mic stuff, as, sadly, no mic, and no external mic support which the 2nd gen can support.
normally you get that when you havent synced it or youtube is down which is not the case in this instance =/
Ugh, now I have to debate whether or not to pay the $10, I've already spent so much this month!! ..i hate good, quality games in the app store.
I'm still waiting for someone to confirm this, but the "Spotlight" search feature can search through all of the apps on the device. It might be able to search out those that aren't actually visible on any of the pages (say, if you go over the page limit and have them in "hidden areas"). And since one can apparently remotely launch apps from within Spotlight, in theory one might be able to search for apps that are on those hidden pages and launch them regardless of the fact that you can't "see" them the "old fashioned way" (searching through each page).
I'm still waiting for all those updates, especially for BeeJiveIM. But you're right, for us 1G users it's none of a revolution.
Well...I say hold out...for now. Some folks are having trouble here and there, so I'm holding out until more reports come in that will include (hopefully) fellow 1st gen iTouch owners. That, and I might just be willing to play the waiting game for the rumored September release of iPod touch 3rd gen. Apple's giving away free 2nd gen iTouch devices with the purchase of a Mac if the buyer is in college (educational discount/deal)...and that's what happened last year when they gave away 1st gen iTouch devices right before they announced the 2nd gen iTouch.
Just downloaded and itunes installed os 3.0 and now my phone does not work! I can now only make emergency calls on it.
Alright, I'll wait.. I'm definitely going to be going to 3rd gen iPod as soon as its out too. But what do I do about Star Defense
Then I guess your next call should be one about that heart attack that's bound to come with all the stress that 3.0 is causing you. Sorry...I couldn't resist. Anyway...this is the reason I'm holding out, and some of my iPhone using friends are doing the same.
Yup, I'm having the exact same problem with mine. It's stuck on that 'emergancy call' screen. Everything was fine until I installed this. Whenever I hook it up to itunes it just keeps sayin my network connection timed out, or whatever... even though it's loading up website no problem. EDIT: Nevermind, my anger was a little hasty. I restarted my PC and now everythings fine... phew!!!
Oh goody! I'll certainly need the extra pages when I get my new iPhone so I can move the additional new and crappy pre-supplied apps out of the way - Voice Memos and Compass, along with the old Stocks...
Yup that's exactly what its doing for me as well. Four apple stores in my area and all of them have busy signals. Luckily I have someone here who does not have an iphone to make these calls...
I'm getting a "activation server unavailable" error when I try to update. I have OS 3.0 downloaded and ready to go, I just get that error when I click update. I persume it must be the huge amount of people queing to get OS 3.0. Apple's fault for making such a "thing" about it <_<
Everyone having problems should try restarting their computer. It worked for me. Of course, I had to restore, but it'll be fine once it's done.
